This time.. yes.. because the need was there for a t6 forward and if Holland wasn't going to trade for one, then he should have drafted a solid one.. Sure, no one knew he'd be as good as he is, but there was still talks of him being solid 3/4 liner in his first year
So Holland knows the scoring is down, he's not going to trade his picks to get one (yet gave up a 1st for Quincey was a huge mistake) so what does he expect to happen? Another year, we still can't find the net with any consistency
Wings should already be the most attractive franchise to play with
The appeal will only be stronger once the Wings finally move to a facility worthy of the premier nhl franchise. Shit at this point they should play at City Arena and charge a million dollars per ticket to the 100 people that arena can accommodate because its still a more comfortable place to watch a game than the local professional team. Id suggest plymouth but Karmanos and Illitch haven't been the greatest of friends over the years.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
I've been real hard on Jimmy (you perverts) in the past but I think he's been pretty damn good the last 2 games.
Tonight and 'if necessary' Sunday will be a huge chance to either validate or invalidate his reputation as a guy who can't steal a game for you.
Anything more than 2 goals is likely too many for this team to overcome.
I'm well aware that the DMen in front of him blow for the most part, and the bulk of the goals he's given up have been shorthanded.
Marriage is like flying with kids, if the flight had 500 connections, never ended, Ted Striker were your pilot and you ate the fish.
I don't think you're being completely fair with that comment. A first liner this soon? Probably not but I saw him play with the USDP numerous times, I saw him play 15-20 games with Saginaw in his career and he always stood out. He's a big body that skates well, has a very good shot and can be a nightmare for opposing teams.
I think I can question the Wings brain trust.
Thomas McCollum 1st round pick
Landon Ferraro selected 32nd overall in 09, player selected after him Ryan OReilly, player selected 35th overall Kyle Clifford. Both those players have played over 200 games in the NHL. I doubt Ferraro plays 200 games in the NHL.
2008 draft-only player that will make an impact and who knows the type of impact he makes is Nyquist
The 06 to 08 drafts are really killing the Wings right now
What did the Kings give up for Richards and Carter. They reaped the rewards last year and will continue to reap those rewards for the foreseeable future.
Richards - Brayden Schenn, Wayne Simmonds, undisclosed pick.
Carter - Jack Johnson, 1st rd. pick.
So, in order to get two guys like that, think Nyquist, Filppula, Kronwall, 1st, other pick.

so tell me...is Jimmy a great or elite goalie at this point? what has he accomplished? Do people honestly believe that Jimmy Howard has been propping up a sub par wings team this whole time? I didnt say he is garbage or anything like that so I am not sure what it is you are trying to get at?
He's been propping up a defense that is no better than a peewee team's at this point. At least in the last 10-ish games.
The Teletubby kid is waiting in the wings.
Don't worry or speculate.
McCollum is simply a bust. He lit up the O but hasn't progressed as the org. had hoped. Nothing else to say.
Ferraro was drafted as a project. I don't think anybody expected him to get to the league quickly, but I'd be surprised if he never gets there.
Despite all the "bad" drafts, they are still right around consensus-top-10 in terms of prospects.
Thank you, Denicos.
That was not a very good playoff save.
I only regret that I have but one downvote to give to this thread.
Skate to stick shot by Selanne another save by Jimmy!
Brad Smith is not a good playoff goalie.

Nope. Neither is Brendan.
Or a good wildcat quarterback
Turnovers again...His team is screwing him over
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
Neither goal was his fault but he was really slow to react on both of those
If you think either one of those was his fault, you have rocks in your brain.
Is it really too much to ask the guy to make a single crutch save?
