This sums it up:
Watch it again.
This. Takes a couple watches, you'll notice new details each time through. Or you could cheat and google people's perceptions of the film and figure out which one makes most sense to you.
Ha didnt care for it huh?
I thought it was decent but then again I watched it stoned so maybe thats why. And that rabbit freaked me out.
One if the few movies I own on blue ray DVD it's a masterpiece

We're all just the manipulated living.
Your a retard.
You need to see the director's cut and watch it a few times and read all about it on wikipedia and fan sites.
I will love you till the end of time.
Never said that. I also was doing some while I watched it. The ending thew me off.
The only way it works is that he has to die. It's the only solution.
Donnie: Why are you wearing that stupid bunny suit?
Frank: Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?
"Look at this. An entire generation of Cinderellas, and there's no glass slipper coming." -- Mother in ALMOST FAMOUS
Only solution to what, him not killing other people?
the director's cut seems to explain things a bit better
Everyone's life was better off if he was dead. He was a sacrifice.
Only way to close the rift in space and time.
My girlfriend and I play the Mad World duet. (I'm on piano, she sings)
Key of C minor, I believe.
The original video of Gary Jules' and Michael Andrews' cover version of Mad World, directed by Michel Gondry. Throughout the video children are making animated figures on the sidewalk below. (the song was featured in the movie Donnie Darko. If you haven't seen it, seriously consider it.)
Directed by Michel Gondry www.michelgondry.com.
i've yet to see a movie where a song better fits the tone of the movie than 'Mad World' at the end of donnie darko.
Song is in steady rotation on my Grooveshark playlist. Particularly like these lines:
"And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had"
Very dark o
Just making sure you know that the song was written by Tears for Fears.
If you like Gary Jules' version of Mad World (which he recorded in 20 minutes for the DD sound track), and you currently don't have any of Jules' CDs in your collection, I highly recommend "Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets" and "Gary Jules." Both are great CDs.
Original video from 1983: "Mad World" by Tears for Fears. This was the third single from their first album The Hurting.
Audio and video are correct and true to the original, although the video portion has been digitally enhanced. This video was created and uploaded for archival, noncommercial and educational purposes and complies with fair use guidelines for copyrighted material.
This HQ version was digitally remastered and encoded by me, Exiled Stardust.
I play it on ukulele. Still a sad song.
One of the all time greats. Watch it at least 3 times before making conclusions.
i only care about spartans --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqsAJQc-NCY
It is my all time favorite movie. chilling the entire way through.
Donnie knew his Smurfs.
A drunk Donnie Darko gives the lowdown on the Smurfs and their sexuality.
Thank you, Denicos.
