Over/under 2.5 transfers by the end of next season for Kentucky
Michigan State University is the university of Michigan
Why shouldn't a kid you is offered a ride to Kentucky jump at it if he thinks that playing there one year will guarantee a first to third round pick in the NBA?
NBA draft doesn't have 3 rounds. Only 2.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
I hope they aren't guaranteeing players will be drafted in the third round of the NBA draft....
I wouldn't put it past Cal to be guaranteeing a third round draft spot...
did cal get wiggins
Remember when the NBA Draft had 9 rounds?
you gotta read this, they think they are going to roll us by 30
We struggle early in the season?
According to IHateWebberState, none of the returning players have to leave as they only have 4 returning scholarship players returning. Some of the players you feel have to leave were on a scholarship for this year only as Kentucky had 3 extra scholarships available this past year to give to walk ons.
So what is the big deal since none of the returning scholarship players have to leave?
Note that if a coach gets fired for lack of performance he doesnt have to sit out a year before going to another school. Not to mention they are paid to begin with and have multiyear contracts and will walk away with million dollar buyouts.
I wouldn't say that's laughable at all. This UK team will be one of the best collections of talent in the history of the sport. There's no denying that. Whether they're able to put the pieces together and become one of the best teams in history is yet to be seen, but it's definitely a possibility.
Here is what I read from the first 3 replies.
"Well, I believe there's our toughest competition, right there. With Harris and Payne back, and Izzo coaching, Sparty is gonna be mighty tough this year."
"Clear cut #2. Absolutely. We're going to have one of the quickest #1 vs. #2 games maybe ever in Chicago at the start of the season. Should be amazing."
"Nice. Championship game preview in November."
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
I don't really know how you can get the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, and 11th best players in the country (as per 247), that seems like highway robbery. At the very least, somebody is going to go home unhappy.
I get it just fine. Calapari is the coach. Calapari thinks the incoming kids are a better option than the kids he is booting. He is taking a gamble. So are kids when they comit to Cal.
"As far as the downvotes. It's a gnat biting an lion"

It's wrong and goes against the spirit of collegiate athletics. Kids (emphasis KIDS) are putting their trust into a coach and a school to do what's best for them. By signing the players, the coach and the uni take on that responsibility.
At least that's what it's supposed to be about.
I thought cal landed wiggins when I saw this thread, if he gets wiggins they are going to be the greatest class ever, not sure they can win it all though
One person posted that... Seems like everyone else is very respectful of what MSU should be next year. Way to blow that one out of context.
You're dealing with a fantasy world you want to exist, not reality. College athletics is a business. What ever the spirit was 30-40 years ago doesn't exist and hasn't existed for a long time.
Nope...not yet at least. Honestly, lots of people think Florida State is a long shot, but I bet he ends up down there. He can be a big fish in a small pond for a year and put up ridiculous numbers that will probably keep him as the top pick in the 2014 NBA draft.
And if the good Lord’s willin’,
I’m a keep on chillin’,
refillin’ and flyin’ high
Bullshit. UK is one of the few exceptions, not the rule. Yes, college athletics is big business, but the majority of schools are doing right by their athletes. They take the responsibility seriously.
Keep slurping Cal if you want, but he's left a trail of slime everywhere he's been.
College athletics was a business 40 years ago too but this shit is way over the top. Cal and Kentucky basketball represent everything that is wrong with college basketball. Not surprising you are trying so hard to defend them.
OMERGERD JUSTIsh LEAGUEs DEERP!
Haven't slurped Cal once. Don't like him. He's a slimeball. But college sports is corrupt as hell and a coach cutting players within the NCAA rules is pretty tame compared to the other sleeze
