what's the fascination with him? Played at Van Andel Arena in GR last night and the 'crowd' filing in was like a white trash revival. SCum gear galore....his music sucks and he looks like a swamp rat. However, I assume he sold out again. Someone clue me in.
Never understood it.

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
I agree. His music is turrible.
I only like a few of his songs (Ba with the Ba and that one with Sheryl Crow) other than that he fuckin sucks
BUt I will say this, he knows how to sell albums. How much has he sold total? Its gotta be like over 20 or 30 million.
He's saving Detroit!!
One mullet at a time...
He's the voice of a generation!
yeah he does do a ton for Detroit I'll give him that
I don't like his music that much, although there are a couple songs off his first album that are alright. I read that he does a lot for the city of Detroit so that makes him ok in my book.

Like he is a neo-Segar?
His first album when he was doing pure early 90's late 80's rap/hip?
What song did you like: Yo-Da-Lin in the Valley, Pimp of the Nation, Super Rhyme Make, Wax the Booty etc...?
Don't like his music at all. But apparently he puts on a hell of a show. I don't hate him. But I could see the fascination.
There's a toilet in the kitchen!
No one is making you go. Saw him open for Metallica once. Wouldn't see him again, but he wasn't awful by any means.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Because people from Michigan support people from Michigan.
He's a Michigan Man fergodsakes
A man's gotta eat!
Seriously, though. He will probably sell out his upcoming shows in Michigan. Check out his remaining "tour"
Some Charity concert
Steamboat Days Festival
Country Jam Festival
Sturgis motorcycle rally.
Yet good ole Kid Rock can return to his home state and pack the house.
Don't forget Balls in your Mouth.
Ok boner. I think you know what I meant. I think I made it pretty well known that I'm not a huge Kid Rock fan. I didn't even know he did that kind of stuff prior to him blowing up.
I really can't speak to his music as it's not my taste, and his musical style has certainly changed over time. But a few things fascinate me......
- There is this very "southern element" to his music, and in Michigan. Spartyon1 calls it "white trash," but he has that NASCAR image and that crowd.
- He's turned himself into another Bob Seger.....midwestern values, Michigan proud, promotes the hometown.
- Despite the high profiles oddities (Pam Anderson, sex tapes, arrests, Mitt Romney), he's been willing to support troops, Detroit, and a number of charities. It does help his image, but also helps other people.
I would've thought he'd disappear years ago, but he's found a path to staying relevant. Good for him......

"Devil without a Cause" was his 3rd or 4th Album. He was opening for Ice Cube in the early 90's. His early rap stuff....is actually pretty good.
