Kim K naked and topless in Kanye's new video

  • UsedToBeBrad said... (original post)

Not going to discuss Kim K, but it amazes me that you think someone who has literally been at the top of pop music for the last decade has no talent. Really? No talent? Or happens to make music that you don't care for?

Edit: it also amazes me the number of people around the internet who don't understand that this video is tongue in cheek.

As delusional, self-indulgent, and self-aggrandizing as Kanye is . . . I can't really say that I believe that it is tongue-in-cheek at all.

You probably haven't seen it and probably won't go through the fort of finding and watching it, but right before Kanye released Dark Fantasy, he put out aaa short film called Runaway that used a lot of music from the forth coming album. It's a really interesting, good looking and well produced short film that he produced almost entirely I his own.

Point being, I have a hard time reconciling the fact that three years later he puts this video out which ostensibly appears to be an amateurish hackneyed piece if shit. What's a more reasonable explanation: That he suddenly is incapable of making a worthwhile piece, or that he's in on the joke?

Yeah, the theory going around about this music video is kind of interesting. Basically, he's been taking everything "white people like" and turning it into something about him (confederate flag, cheesy video with mountain backdrop, debuting video on a daytime talk show, "Yeezus"). All of "white culture", just with a black guy in the middle of it. Partly ironic, party self-serving too, I'm sure.

That said, still doesn't explain the Kim K part, but that explains itself...

Saw an article today online that mentioned Kanye was calling out Zappos.com for having bad products. He came off as being an assclown as he has so many times previously. I thought I should actually listen to his music and see if he actually has any talent or if he was as retarded as he seemed to be from his comments and actions. The article linked the video. I watched that POS (only thing he's done I have ever seen/heard) with his "famous" woman in it and came to the conclusion not even he could be that stupid. This must be a joke ala Joaquin Phoenix turning rapper. If it is, it certainly isn't a brillant thought provoking "joke is on you" type of stunt or statement. It is just plain crap, just like Joaquins'. The joke is on him. If that song was not a satire then I must say we actually found someone with less talent than the Kardashians and it is fitting they found each other. Maybe his early stuff was great but after this I have no desire to ever give him the clicks/views and certainly not any $ to feed his outsized ego.

4chan poster's take on the video:

"Alright /mu/ I am sorry for another thread on this, but it urks me that nobody understands this music video. Before I continue, I would just like to explain that I am not a huge Kanye West fan, yet I understand and appreciate his work, and I would just like to offer my two cents on this video, and the meaning behind it.

Alright firstly, the confederate flag. Many of you may or may not know that Kanye has put the confederate flag on a number of his new merchandise associated with the Yeezus tour. The reason for this is that he wants to replace a racist symbol with himself. He wants people to start associating it with him, instead of racism, so quite frankly it can't be used by racists, as it represents a 'Black Skin Head.' He has admitted to this. (I'll dig up the interview if you don't believe me.)
Now with this in mind, we can continue on to the Bound 2 video. This video presents some of the most stereotypical, if not corny american stereotypes. The desert. The galloping stallions. The beautiful woman. The soft porn. The lone ranger riding his motorcycle into the sunset. And it is all presented in such a simple and uninspiring way that it is almost a mockery of these things. The only thing not stereo typically american here, is the fact that the lone ranger is black.

So why is Kanye doing this? Well it is pretty simple, he is taking White American culture, and he is replacing it with a Black skin head. This is essentially an aggressive cultural takeover that the average person probably doesn't even realise is happening. Why else would he debut the video on the Ellen show? It is a white american talk show, with a white american demographic. This man is literally destroying white american stereotypes by making them revolve around him. The funniest part is, hardly anyone realises it. Oh and who is white america's favourite white person? Jesus. Im sure you all get where im going with this."

Probably bullshit, but it makes sense. Kanye doesn't just shoot bullshit videos like this typically. He's a massive douche, but he's not an idiot.

Pretty grandiose plan I must say. It would help if he attempted said plan with a song that didn't sound like hot garbage.

Uhm....no. Sorry, not buying it. I respect your analysis/opinion and even if your spot on it is BS. How grandiose is it to think white americans will associate the stars and bars and other sterotypes with Kanye. See the comments, it is pretty clear many perceive him as an ass, including our President if you recall. He will be associated with stupidity until he stops being stupid.

You might be right on a lot of your speculation. His ego could be that big. To think that the rest of us could not follow it (and thus he is a genius and we are not) would fit in with some of his recent comments. Joaquin wasn't winning any MENSA points with his charade, why should Kanye feel entitled? Any thoughts on the grassy knoll and the second gunmen? Mafia, Cubans, both? I think it was the CIA. Tomorrow will be the 50th anniv..

    And here's my $0.02:

Kanye West is a racist whose blatant spite towards white people makes him a God-King to socially-interested neck-beards who spin his vitriol off as righteousness.

Nobody understands this music video; to that much I'll agree. Half the viewers will sit around passing the doobie while discussing how "deep" the song is -- the other half will intentionally puncture their own ear drums. And the people who are actually capable of "understanding" the video? Well, they don't give a shit about some chauvinistic opportunist who contributes nothing whatsoever to society other than a case-study on egos-gone-wrong.

Well, this one is just brilliant.

TL;DR: Kanye West proves to be the champion of feminism as he combats sexualization by way of displaying his naked, submissive wife to millions of viewers worldwide, while alluding to his "bad reputation" among a "thousand bitches" for none other than... his constant sexualization of them!

Absolutely amazing. Oh, here's my favorite line from Bound2 -- this one really illustrates how devoted West is to establishing respect for women:

"I wanna fuck you hard on the sink,
After that, give you somethin' to drink"

Nothing screams "Respect Women!" like a good old-fashioned facial.

Well, the next line is "step back, can't get spunk on the mink". Shows he is at least considerate.

i don't give two fucks what he's sending up, or if he's making some statement by the visuals in the video - the ultimate and only relevant point is that the SONG IS AWFUL. Like Ear bleeding bad. Like I can't believe it's real bad. Like i'd rather listen to what does the fox say on a 24 hour loop than ever hear this piece of shit again.

Kanye backers love to talk about how innovative he is. I got news for you: just because something is "different" doesn't mean it's good. Kanye has sucked balls for a very long time. He just happens to have truck fulls of money and the media gives him a platform of self-promotion that people begin to buy into his shit because he NEVER STOPS PROMOTING HIMSELF. He's the musical equivalent of fringe political whackos who just repeat the same lies over and over and over and over and pretend they're reality so long that they become their reality.

No question it's horrible. You may have missed where I commented on Kim actually having more talent than him if that was a serious attempt at music. If it was a send up it was a bad one with bad music.

i wasn't responding to you so much as backing up your response to that idiotic treatise on how that video is supposed to be some brilliant deconstruction of "white" culture - whatever the fuck that is.

  • So let me get this straight....this assclown is trying to replace a racist symbol by attacking white culture, essentially being a racist himself? And this is okay because????

  • My favorite part is that is Kim K's Youtube page and out of 8.6+ million views, there are overwhelmingly negative reviews (thumbs down) to the tune of 68,000 negatives to 15,000 positives.

    Yuck.

  • I don't know what I hate more:

The DIY-at-the-mall editing quality or the Yoko Ono-esque background noise.

    signature image signature image
  • Look, I get it was spoofed. The symbolism referenced ad nauseum above is pretty fucking obvious and doesn't take genius to produce.

The music sucks balls. It's beyond terrible. He should focus less on all this imagery and posing and more on how to actually make decent music again. He's lost whatever talent he had.

Just a condescending douche bag now who is more impressed with his intellect than he should be.
