For fun, last year I went through the selection process, creating spreadsheets with data and an S-curve. I missed on the seeding but hit 67 of 68 tourney teams.
Anyone can make a reasonable guess on the field, but it seems like Lunardi would be in the best possible position, since he has contacts who can tell him what the process will be like for the Committee, i.e. what they will be emphasizing that they failed to last year.
What is also missing is a some kind of narrative. We only see the bracket, we don't necessarily understand how the decisions were made. Maybe Lunardi's process is broken.
It's all guessing even if you have inside information. Not even the committee knows who they are going to choose until they get together. Plus, we all do pretty well with our guesses, but we are also given the information from guys like Lunardi through the media. So while he can get the info, he pretty much always conveys it to us. If I had to start from scratch with no information from the media I am sure I would be pretty bad with picking the back end of the field.
I was looking around for tickets and wondered if anyone had advice on which session to buy? I would hate to pick the wrong one. Also, how dumb is it to go through retail channels like StubHub? I have no contacts at MSU or the Palace, so I'm without insider connections.
Palms bracket this am has us as the 3 in gonzagas bracket w nm as the 2 seed. I wish.
New Mexico getting a 2 seed is silly. RPI is ridiculous.
Ridiculously good? They do have the #1 RPI.
Palm does have MSU and Michigan at the Palace right now. I can't see Michigan saying on the 3 line.
I would wait until game times are released before buying, it will be a complete coin flip as to which session we will be in on Thursday.
the ncaa are actually really good at not letting information out before the show at 6...
I think the one year there was a slip was about 1/2 hr before the bracket was out we had the strong rumour we were getting new mexico state in round 1......
the only problem with being a 2 or a 3 this year is because a lot of team in the low majors have been taking care of business in their conference tourny's... you may find a lot of "live" 14 and 15 seeds this year.....and potentially for a round 2... the 11 seeds may well be a bunch of very skittish teams who are going to be able to beat any team on any given day (i.e I wouldn't be surprised if for example minnesota was an 11 who then takes out a 6.....)
I don't understand why this guy has been down voted so many times. Haha it was just his opinion. Lol I think it wasn't a good one, but not to warrant ridicule!

Yeah...drunken 2 AM rants don't usually work out so well for me
