Damnit. Beat me by only 13 hours.
They just just have to only lose 2 or 3 more games, doesn't matter if they lose to Purdue, Nebraska and NW or Wisky, IU and OSU.
"I love March!" - Tom Izzo
There is just so much stacked against us this year. It's the most unbalanced schedule in the history of the Big Ten because of the 12 teams and we absolutely drew the short end of the stick. Add on top that it's probably the best the conference has been top to bottom in at least 20 years and the odds are not good.
I agree that MSU @ Wisky and MSU @ Purdue are probably necessities to win a share of the title.
I will also say that if it happens and this team finds a share, it will be Tom Izzo's best coaching job and the most impressive of his Big Ten titles.
I don't know about that. With the fact that everything is now digital and on-line, that whole creating paper thing slides down in importance. I would say 2013 MSU @ Wisky is above paper and slightly below the whole fruity Renaissance era.
I wonder when the last time Wisky lost back-to-back B1G games where at least 1 of them was at home
12/31 vs Iowa
1/3 vs MSU
1/8 @ umAA
They did that just last year. They lost to Iowa at Kohl and then to us also at Kohl.

With everything that happened just last week in the Big Ten, I think it's short sighted to say this is a must win game.
That said, it would be a huge win and give us a lot more breathing room heading into Bloomington.
We are 6 point underdogs to Wisconsin. I know Kohl's is a tough place to play but I am surprised by that line. I see this as a very winnable game for us.

I would sack the hell out of Rome for a win tomorrow....
Now with a PhD in Applied Llama Physics...
Why am I here?
Still a little early for "must" statements, imo.
(still, Go Green)
1. The Big Bang
1a. MSU @ Wisky tomorrow

Izzo will need to do a lot more than win this game to prove to me he's the right fit for us long term.
Can't believe we've got a 4-game win streak going against Wiscy, and 5 of the last 6.
Anyone know who's reffing tonight? The d-bag with the highlights who did the OSU game was in South Bend last night...
Agreed, I'm still not sold on this Izzo hire. What was Jud thinking? Izzo loses this game and he should feel his seat getting a little warm. MSU needs a coach who recruits 5 star talent nationally like a true blue blood.
I personally think its a must win game IF MSU wants to contend for a title. MSU still has @IU, @UM, @OSU, @Purdue, Minny, UM, and IU at home.
I feel like either UM or IU, or both, will only have 4 losses. If MSU loses @Wisky, followed up by an almost guaranteed loss at IU, that just doesnt give MSU enough wiggle room. Saying MSU will weep at home then go 2-2 in those 4 road games is not going to happen.
Uh, why not?
Defending home court, winning the "easy" road games and stealing 1-2 they shouldn't have won on the road is pretty much exactly how someone will win the title.

so mattyfresh and so clean
This is a prime game to steal a road win which are hard to come by in this league. Wisconsin is going to be without Frank Kaminsky AND George Marshall, not to mention Wisconsin lost Josh Gasser for the year.
Wisconsin basically has 1 big. MSU has 2 large Bigs in Payne and Nix. Advantage MSU.
I realize you are joking, but I'm actually kind of shocked that the DEs aren't calling him out for saying that he would be happy with a split in our next two road games!
I was expecting an "Izzo doesn't care about winning every game" post or "Izzo is ok with losing" rant.
Just because Marshall did not practice does not mean he is not playing. He will be a game time decision.
