Great player. People were shocked on wednesday when Evan said he didn't have a commitable offer from Wisconsin, at least not yet. I think the size/frame are the only knocks on him. Off the charts ability. Great pick up for Michigan State.

Brian Allen to Wisconsin? Not likely.
We've been covering the recruitment of Hinsdale (Ill.) Central Offensive Lineman Brian Allen pretty thoroughly since Andersen took over for Wisconsin. Heading into his last visit to Wisconsin, we reported the three-star lineman wasn't as high on Wisconsin's wish list anymore, as he once was under Bielema. Our suspicions have been confirmed.
Allen was told he still has an offer from the Badgers, however it's not a commitable offer at the moment. Allen told 247sports that Wisconsin wants to fill some other needs along the offensive line, before they would take him. Even if Allen holds off from making a decision and the Badgers fill those needs in time, Allen isn't likely to come to Wisconsin anymore.

Three, but his Rivals rating is 5.7, which means, per Rivals standards, he's on the borderline between three-star and four-star.
Not that I really give a crap - but what in the hell is an offer if it isn't "commitable"? You either want the kid or you don't.

Great news. Very happy to see him choose us (and choose us now, this weekend, and hopefully get the ball rolling for others to follow).
I'd take Bielema's word on an Offensive Lineman any day over the new coach Anderson. If there was one thing Bielema could do, it was evaluate and recruit the best O-Line prospects in the nation. Coach Stub Toe was an ass at times, but anyone who knows football can't knock him for his success with the O-Line.

Great start to the weekend and 2014 class...hope it leads to some other commits in Chicago.

Listen up Bucky...if there was one thing Wisconsin did better did than almost anyone under Beliema it was OL. If Beliema offered an OL that says more to anyone in the college football world than if your new WAC coach offered.
Why is Derrick Nix recruiting for Ole Miss???
this kid had a Michigan State offer. He must be a badass. Welcome aboard BA
kid is 6'2 285ish that's good size for a center.

S/o to @bcallen65 on his commitment to MSU!!! #Core6 #SpartanNation
LOL, agree. Rivals is a disaster. No credibility.
I wanted to stay away from stirring stuff up, but, yeah, that's pretty much it.
Welcome to State Brian. FYI Brian is also an undefeated Illinois HS State Champion wrestler this past year.
lol, good catch.
Great get and i would've loved for him to be a badger as a center, but Allen was offered as a DT by Bielema. Andersen is the one that even began to look at him as an OL.
He is the number 3 rated center in the nation. That's a huge get!
To die in ann arbor is redundant
ESPN has Brian Allen as a DT

Nice getting a couple of solid OL commits early.
I think his size is perfect for the center spot and the leverage/quick feet etc. used in wrestling can only help. Like that his brother will be there a couple years with him. Talk about getting a jump on the system.
Welcome to MSU Brian, looking forward to cheering you on for many years!
Here's the thing, no one really gives a fuck.
