Watching MAC football is depressing because their offenses look so good. Unlike ours.
yea but the MAC schools are all awful on D. Makes the offenses look better than they really are
Awful defense or not, at least they don't let touchdown passes bounce off the numbers.
I love watching MAC games...seeing the teams chase each other all over the field.
Plus it gives me an excuse to have a few beers on Tuesday/Wednesday nights during the fall
tickets could be had for like 10 bucks
woulda went if I was in the D
Wow, can't believe one of these teams may be playing in a BCS game. Neither looks very good.
MAC level championship game
Crowd does not seem much bigger than what I saw there for the MHSAA Finals last weekend.
...and yet KSU beat Rutgers by nearly two touchdowns.
But they also got crushed by a two win Kentucky team.
Which can only tell us that the Big East is no more deserving of a BCS game than the MAC.
Northern Illinois is by far the more complete team. Kent State can't throw the ball to save their soul. If NIU gets up more than 1 score, forget about it. They're defense has held Kent State to 50 yards total at halftime. If it wasn't for a couple turnovers, NIU would be up by 14 or 21 right now. Their defense is legit and has shut down the Kent State rushing attack that averages over 240 yards per game. Kent State's biggest win of the year (over Rutgers) was definitely helped by Rutgers having 7 turnovers in the game. Rutgers out gained them and never should have lost.
Jordan Lynch isn't having his best game tonight, but he's a legit talent. They really held him back in the Iowa game (their only loss and his first career start) or they'd probably be 12-0 and looking at a BCS game with a win tonight. There's a reason NIU was a 6.5 point (or greater depending upon when you bet it) favorite tonight.

And if the good Lord’s willin’,
I’m a keep on chillin’,
refillin’ and flyin’ high
Crowd looks about the same as PAC-12 championship, except this game is being played at a neutral site in Detroit.
Hope NIU wins. They are the more complete team and would have a better chance of making some noise in a BCS bowl. Sucks they blew it late against Iowa in the opener.
will NIU move up enough to get a BCS spot?
21 to 16 is a pretty big jump
16 UCLA 9-3 - Probable loss to Stanford
17 Kent State 11-1 - Loss to NIU
18 Texas 8-3 - Probable Loss to KState
19 Michigan 8-4 - Idle
20 Boise State 9-2 - probable win @Nevada
21 Northern Illinois
I would think NIU beating No. 17 would move them ahead of Boise, even if they beat Nevada?
would be interesting
NIU already has a lead over BSU in the computers. They are 200 points behind in the Harris poll, and 100 behind in the coaches poll. Don't know if the voters would move them up enough of not.
I suppose that NEB could lose and drop a lot as well.
The NIU QB is a beast of a runner and an acceptable passer. He will be the difference in this game.
My seats at SS. My driveway in winter.
Lynch took Shoelace's single-season QB rushing record tonight, so that's nice.
I WISH we had a MAC level offense.

even if either team is in the top 16 who thinks any bowl would pick them over Oregon or OU? there's only two spots available at large since Florida has one locked up as a top 4 team. K State, Louisville, FSU, Nebraska, and Stanford (or their conference champion alternates) take up everything else. Oregon is clearly going to the Fiesta...OU probably to the Sugar. Can't see how either bowl would bother with NIU or Kent State.
no fucking way
and we got a ball game
fumble return for a TD PAT away from 27-27
