"If you're worried about Wolverine fans, just move to Pasadena. You'll never have to deal with 'em."
Will probably just look like a final four game on TV except instead of random studio updates you'll get random crowd sounds from the other side of the curtain/faux wall.
I would absolutely want to go to this. Non conference basketball isn't exciting and this would spice things up a little
I think they aught to stagger the games more. Maybe 20-25 minutes.
laconophilia is everywhere...
They should play a basketball game on on the banked track during the football game, and make it be on thanksgiving. It'd be like the ultimate holiday gathering backyard sports spectacular, complete with the sloped driveway making uneven shots.
As for the 4 basketball games next to each other, I really hope it ends up like playing at the IM building where errant passes and loose balls bounce onto the next court and stop play.
It happens in Wrestling all the way to the olympic level. You get used to the whistles, athletes drown out the noise from other areas etc... I think it is an awesome idea!
Hollis is CRAZY!
But, he's OUR crazy!
Love the idea. Nothing better for recruiting than to do things like this.
Nίκη για MSU
Hollis is legend... Wait for it.
This. I think it's a great idea. Exposure, recruits program brand, etc. I'm sure the television issues will be worked out in some way that if your team's in it and you want a feed devoted to that game it'll happen.
Love the thought of playing on the same court the Final Four will be hosted at. I bet Izzo's all for it, given the emphasis on preparation for March.
People who think it's a bad idea aren't thinking about the big benefit for MSU basketball: everyone who's the least bit interested in college basketball will watch it. Creative staging has helped make Spartan basketball a national brand. Hollis does for MSU basketball publicity in November what Izzo does for it in March.
They should set the eight teams now, but the kicker would be to randomly draw the match-ups an hour before game time. If we are going to make this a circus, we minus well jump in with both feet!
That would actually be pretty cool.
Or every AAU tournament where there are multiple courts under the same roof in action almost all the time.
Draymond Green, Magic Johnson, and Oscar Robertson are the only players to have two triple-doubles in the NCAA Tournament.
As long as they are allowed to bring a cooler...they'll be there.
Bump for the 620 am crowd
Actually not a bad idea. Twist would be how well teams do without being able to game plan.
An hour??? needs only enough time to hear who the opponent will be and he's ready.. Send the teams out on the fly.
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
That'd be sweet.
Lol @ blanch's last comment. No wonder the thread died.
Surely you understand these events are about promoting the MSU basketball program.
Well I guess I will have to wait for the sweet sixteen
