No offense to Hill but he can't be a feature back for an entire season, we need to find someone else to at least help carry the load.
What is the story with Tompkins,,,,,figured he'd be in the mix this year ? Signs appear to be pointing to the freshmen coming in this summer will likely be competing for the starting spot.
Damn good question..not hearing much aboutTompkins.....kinda bummed.
....as for Gholston being held: this has gone on across the CFB landscape for years: quick, name the last dominant DE in terms of sacks.......can't do it I bet. Clowney would be my first thought but he's a FREAK.
Kerrigan and Watt were in the BIg Ten and didn't dominate by ANY stretch of the imagination: this is the way that CFB wants it. Lots of cheesy scoring and less defense. It sucks but it's a fact. Hey mentalstate: dig up Kerrigan and Watt's numbers and compare them to Will's: I bet they are similar. I still think Will needed another season but I can see where the kid was overwhelmingly frustrated as well.
I think Gholston did get held, but I think we also thought he was a little faster than he was. He almost got there so many times, then he ran a 4.93 at the combine and it makes a little sense. Will was great against the run though, he had a disappoitning season overall, but we'll miss his run support. Shilique could easily be a better pass rusher, but he'll have to put on some weight before he holds the edge in run support like BW.
They just put pads on Friday. There isn't going to be much change in the depth chart yet. Tompkins is still running with the 3rd string (presumably based on the final depth chart of last year)
Already up about 10-15 LBS from last year. That puts him at about 250-255. They are shooting for him to be at 260 to see how that works. I normally don't post about players weights because I think it's overblown but I'm dying for football after last year.
