Started out at Rutgers.
Creighton played decent defense but did not have the offensive weapons to keep this close. I think we will give 'em a run for their money:
And none of them came to MSU either. They must have been real gems.
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
Some of them are. They clearly were tonight.
Izzo isn't a pansy, though. He'll fight back. McDermott didn't. He should have gotten a T, gotten ejected, anything to show those guys up.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
why are we showing Curry's mom clapping?
A friend of mine is a Duke fan and owes me some money. Should I go double or nothing on the game?
The biggest thing that worries me about Duke is they have great players and the best coach since John Wooden.
Jesus, you guys sound like a bunch of fucking classless pussies trying to put all the focus on flopping and corruption. Be bigger than that.
Relax and enjoy two elite, classy programs going head to head. I love our chances. I think we'll present a match up problem for them. Payne and Nix will open up a lot of outside looks for Harris/Trice/Appling. Should be a fun game, or as Coach K just said, "big time college basketball".
Officiating will determine the outcome.
We get a fair shake, we win.
I think we win because we are Michigan State and we are fucking sweet.
While I agree...people also aren't blind. Look at the games played against Duke over the years, the one time we beat them was probably with the most finesse team Izzo has had in forever. The teams that are physical he has had always have trouble with Duke, and more times than not it's foul trouble.
Dont think anyone is scared, but have watched enough hoops to know what is ahead.
Discussing a known issue that is widely attributed to playing against Duke = Pussies.

People who don't think officiating is a factor are Pollyanas.
It's not always (not often, even) the determining factor, but it's a huge part of the game because players can and are taken off the floor due to the calls officials make. Not to mention the occasional complete incompetence such as today's which bit the Illini.

My problem is people are incapable of talking about Duke without crying about flopping/K riding refs/refs favoring Duke.
Duke is Duke because of the Championships and Final Fours. Duke is everything any remotely honest fan wants their program to be.
Graduate kids - check
Win championships - check
Put players in the NBA - check
Legendary coach - check
Simply put last season.....Duke 30-41 from the FT line.....MSU 13-18, we lost 74-69 and I'll even take away 10 FT's for late game fouling and that is still 31 to 18 in attempts.
You are right. 100% Agree with you.
and what does any of that have to do with the rules of basketball and the officials calling the game properly in terms of those rules.
Not all refs favor Duke.
But they were absolutely impacted by K's bullying tonight. It happens too often. He was riding them from the very beginning. All one of them had to do was turn, hit him with a well-deserved technical, and it stops.
It's an issue.
This. Ross is consistently wrong just like he pumped up St Mary's PG as being awesome when he sucks.
K already used the word "physical" about us in the post-game interview. He'll continue to plant that seed all week in hopes of getting the game called in a favorable style. He works the situation subtlely, but watch, he'll talk about our physicality all week in a way that sounds complimentary, but will also allude to the idea that we push the boundaries of what should be allowed.
He's a smart dude, nothing he does is by accident, and it works.
They consistently underachieve in the tournament except for the few years where they actually live up to potential and make a run.
That tends to happen when you are National Title contender every single year.
The NCAA tournament is the hardest tournament to win in sports.
LMAO says the dude who says the dumbest shit and is constantly wrong. You're in good company here pulling.
K about to speak at presser. Could talk about the game.
I just hope the Duke team we see is functioning on a similar level as they were tonight. That was phugly.
Tonight it was evident and at times atrocious. That is the biggest reason to worry about Duke.
