I'm sorry, but, and I've loved how he's responded to a whole lot of things over the last 5 years, MD you looked like an asshole in this press conference. How in the HELL can you not expect to be asked honest questions -- about your team's horrible performance -- and then treat the media that way with 'next question' ??
Not one of those questions were out of bounds. MD was. Period.
I don't care how disappointed you are, that was shitty. I'm really sorry to see him respond that way.
EDIT: THANK YOU Sean, for posting that so soon. We appreciate you.

As I said in the other presser thread:
"People who aren't happy with this are morans.
You want your coach pissed after a performance like that.
Besides, they have a job to do, but let's not kid ourselves, their story is already written. The only thing a soundbite from Dantonio will do would be fo flesh out their 4th or 5th paragraph.
Beyond that, him being pissed IS the story, as it's not usually how he conducts his post game pressers."
"When I was in school they told me practice makes perfect. Then they told me nobody's perfect. So I stopped practicing." --Steven Wright
MD always talks about treating people the right way.
Not ONE single member of the media dropped a pass or called a stupid play.
It's on him. And he was an asshole.
I loved it. He answered the questions, called out who needed to be called out, and described the performance we saw on the field and what needs to be done. Ever played a sport? You get a little heated after a game, especially when you don't play well. On to the next one...
Sorry you feel that way.
I'm sure if he talked to everyone the News and Freep would have been WAY more nice.
He answered their questions, he sent a message to his team, and no one at BTN even thought it was too out of line because he's been great to the media.
Non-issue, but tRCMB specializes in making mountains out of molehills.
Some stupid questions...
"Does the offense have to get better to beat OSU?"
"Has the WR core sorted itself out yet?
don't blame Dantonio for the presser, dumb questions
Yes, I've played a sport. I started at linebacker for Sexton.
I like that's as unsatisfied as we all are with how HIS team has performed in some areas.
He pushed his dissatisfaction off on the media guys. That's bush league.
The questions were stupid and the answers to all of them should have been clear as day to anyone in the room. He talked about the game before the questions. But I guess the media needs the quotes right. This reaction as a fan is way better then the opposite as it shows he cares and is pissed.
Can you imagine hoke up there in a similar position? We uhhh need to um mm just play some huh better Michigan football. Ummmm the uh wide receivers need to uhhh catch the um football betterrrrrrrrt.
Yeah, I don't know why he even did a presser if he wasn't going to even answer the legitimate questions. Not all of them were dumb questions.
I'm fine with that presser. At least he didn't slap himself or tell anyone to smile.
He was talking to his team there. He probably insulted the media while doing it but that was for the squad.
YOUR have been banned from reading and posting on the Michigan Wolverine board.
This is very clear.
How was he being rude or taking it out on the media? He doesn't have to be extraordinarily pleasant to be around at all times. He's affected by the loss, and probably even more so by how his team carried itself in the first half.
I am so sick of the media and media sympathizers acting as if anyone owes them anything at all, while they go out and write articles trying to get you fired. Completely absurd. He wasn't rude to them, he simply answered the questions asked. Notice they didn't ask any open ended questions, they were asking pointed questions on purpose. Does the offense need to play better to beat OSU? Come on, that's an unprofessional question. If the writers want to be treated like fluffy bunnies, then perhaps they aught to come to a presser a little more prepared, with legitimate questions that actually incite thought.
laconophilia is everywhere...
I've seen a lot of things in my life, but that...was...awesome.
Dantonio was pissed. Can't blame him. Reporters are douches. Next question.

QFT.....SCum plays a felon: no questions asked: we win by 16 albeit playing like dog shit and our coach gets grilled...makes perfect sense really
did the UM kid who was convicted of a felony play today? is he still on the team?
I agree - its not the reporters fault the team played poorly. Love coach D but he's ultimately responsible for the product on the field. Defended roushar with the "plays don't make plays, players do" comment. Called out a few guys as well. Not his best performance at a press conference.
He should impose a media blackout including twitter for the rest of the season. This team is lacking major focus.
Agree but he needs to make changes in the lineup as well - fowler needs to sit along with mumphrey and hill. It seems gholston was a discipline issue but said as he didn't practice the entire week. still don't like how it came across in the presses though - it's part of the job - like it or not.
Trust in Coach D to get the ship righted. We're 3-1 and have a ton to play for. Two other big ten teams went down to weaker opponents. We did not.
You idiots whining on behalf of the poor media are missing the point. Dantonio wasn't speaking to them - he was speaking to his team. Izzo uses pressers to do this all of the time. He's trying to light a fire.
Hey, we wanted a coach who would take football seriously and not act like a clown. Well, we got it. Nothing to see here...move along folks.
Ding ding ding! Rod, tell him what he's won...
If Dantonio is pissed about the performance and doesn't feel like talking to the media when they ask him yes or no questions where the answer is obvious already, I'm fine with it.
Lots of other coaches would've had an even worse attitude after a performance like that.
"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity. I'm not too sure about the former." - Albert Einstein
Just like a good teacher doesn't ask yes/no questions, the media shouldn't either. Ask better questions, you get better answers.
"Coach, how will you improve the passing game in preparation for OSU?" "players have to catch the ball. Doesn't get any simpler than that....."
Notice he Gave a cogent and pointed answer to the very first question which required a more lengthy response. Good question, good
Media needs to ask better questions, especially when they know the head coach is thoroughly pissed.
