Nobody is happy with the performance this far. However, if anyone has earned our trust, it's Coach D.
Wow, they have a girl's football team at Sexton!
He gave longer answers to the intelligent questions, and simple answer to simpleminded questions. Is the media so lame they need the head coach to tell them what they just watched on the field?
He was fine. Get over it Nancy.
I agree. Not acceptable.
Dave Berk on scout said that he's heard rumors that Dantonio had to get to a family issue.
Not sure if true or not but it could explain some of this shortness.
MD was short with the media but I wouldn't characterize it as him being an asshole.
An asshole move would've been to not show up or walk out on the presser early- which he did not do.
We don't live in an idealistic world where every coach says or acts exactly proper 100% of the time. Part of the problem with society today is everyone is so sensitive to every little thing that doesn't go exactly the way they want.
Nice guys don't win championships- and that's one of coach D's primary responsibilities. Being likable to the media or fans is nowhere on the job description.
Can't say this presser made me feel any better about this team going forward. Why should Dantonio need to "speak through the media" to tell his players how bad they've played the last two weeks? He's more than capable of telling his players that to their face. The shot he took near the end of the press conference was also unnecessary. Don't get short with the media because the receivers can't even catch a cold, much less a pass.
On the other hand, JRN-101 dictates that when you(the media) ask "yes or no" questions, you sure as hell better expect "yes or no" answers.
Oh, and while Dantonio's "players make plays" line is accurate, it does not absolve Roushar of the shitty job he's done

I'd rather have this entire team shut the hell up about what they're "going to do", and go out on the field and actually do it.
Yeah, I really don't think Dantonio was thinking of you or your feelings during that press conferenceanyway. Call me crazy
There was nothing he could have said to please you or any MSU fan, so I'm glad he was real and short. More time to get back to work.
You don't think Coach D wants the same thing? You don't think he's told the players to their faces? This is a guy who had a heart attack a couple of years ago, is obviously under stress right now, and based on his face looks tired and very frustrated. I just hope he can keep it in perspective AND figure out how to get his kids to play like they want to win.
It's the fucking media. Who gives a shit! Why should Dantonio do it? Because we need something to work and wake them up. We have a lot of work to do, and he's trying to find ways to get it done. He is not happy with his team, and he is showing us how he is pissed with their performance.
I heard that Dantonio's daughter is/was in the hospital for stomach issues. This might be weighing on him. Source works at hospital fwiw
Your source is violating a crap load of privacy laws and should probably be canned.
This is a silly thread. Yup, MD does get pissed off and rightly so (ask Mr. Hart), that they have looked less than stellar the last two weeks. However, the man has brought continuity, responsibility, recruits, and respect to a program that has previously lacked in all. Does Izzo get pissed off because the program is not achieving their goals (rhetorical question)? MD feels the same, Be thankful we have a man of integrity in charge who is building what you desire, and just as unhappy as you with current results. It is all about building a program. Hollis and Simon should also be commended. Should the team falter this year, I am still very pleased with the direction of our athletic department, and the folk who make it so.
