Both on track as first ballot HoFers. Which player being out for an extended period of time hurts the club more? I could see it both ways...if I had to make a choice JV out makes a bigger impact.
Miggy. JV being out and we still have 5 good/decent starters. Miggy being out means we lose our best hitter and are forced to play Don Kelly at 3b or someone just as bad.
"Being hurt" is a bad base of topic here. If you can only sign one, who do you sign?
I'll take Cabrera. Our staff is still solid with Fister, Scherzer, Sanchez, Smyly, Porcello but our lineup takes a huge hit without Cabrera.
Without Verlander, the Tigers still have a solid rotation. Without Cabrera, the entire make-up of the lineup changes.
Regular season I think they could live without JV easier. But come October I'd take the ace over the stick.
Good pitching beats a good lineup 9 times out of 10, especially in the Playoffs
The Giants didn't have a spectacular lineup but their rotation shut down the Tiger bats in the WS
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
Rather than posting a thread and using "words" you should have just checked their WARs. That would have told you for sure.
The Tigers didn't exactly have a significantly better offense than SF last year
Detroit was 11th in runs, SF 12th
Detroit was 6th in Bavg, SF 5th
Detroit was 3rd in OBP, SF 8th
Detroit was 7th in OPS, SF 14th
The biggest issue was the fact that pitchers could sleep from 5-9 through most of the year last year. I think offense was our biggest issue last year in the regular season and playoffs.
"Leave the gun.....take the cannoli"
"It's not your job to be as confused as Nigel."
Mike Trout because WAR.
Miggy b/c I don't think Fielder's bat is going to be big again this year
Neither. Trouts' the best.
