Didnt read through the whole thread but.....
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace!!
Just HOURS after NBA player Jason Collins announced he's gay, 26-year-old Wallace took right to Twitter to provide the first ignorant comment.
“All these beautiful women in the world and guys wanna mess with other guys SMH (shakin' my head) …”
30 minutes later, Wallace deleted his tweet and replaced it with a half-assed explanation:
"Never said anything was right or wrong I just said I don't understand!! Deeply sorry for anyone that I offended."

Good for him, I'm impressed he had the guts to be the first player to come out.
well that wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be after reading this thread

What a dumb move considering you just moved to Miami, bro....
And btw, Broussard just killed himself, he is an NBA expert with NBA sources, should have provided the NBA reaction as he was supposed to rather than go off on his own rant. And look at the eyes, dude is angry. The kind of angry that can only come from years of suppressing that thing that happened in the bathroom in the club years ago...
Broussard should be fired on the spot. What a bunch of crap.
Another intolerant bible thumper.......
"No one cares what you know, until they know how much you care." Mark Dantonio
The Broussard thing is weird. The more I listen to it, the more I think the reporter was just asking a stupid question.
Why even ask Broussard that question? Asking him about how other NBA players will react seems reasonable, but why is the guy asking Broussard about Collins being a christian? I don't care about broussard's thoughts on collins' religious beliefs. I want him to talk about how players/gms/owners/ect are going to react.
I'm assuming everyone at ESPN knew his stance. He wrote about it back in 2009 after Amaechi came out.

"Put your mother in a straight-jacket you punk ass white boy." ~ Mike Tyson
He lumped homosexuality in with adultery. No better, no worse.
The faux outrage is amusing, as are the accusations of intolerance, whilst being intolerant.
It was probably ESPN trying to get headlines by creating controversy. It was a dumb question (and equally dumb response). How the guy reconciles being gay with being Christian not only is deeply personal, but isn't really relevant to any discussion ESPN should be having. The discussion should be on the larger issue of gay athletes on what this means.
My shovel is sharp, my pick is sharp, and my will is outstanding.
Well played by the Stanford grad. Now he doesn't have to work hard this offseason just to barely make a team. He can show up out of shape to a couple camps and get cut. Then he can threaten a discrimination suit against the league and they'll throw a few million at him to go away.
I am gravely disappointed. Again you have made me unleash my dogs of war.
Just think... They've been trying to slam soccer down our throats in this country for the past 25 years... You know, its just too bad soccer never took off, or we would have moved past and forgotten all about this moment a long, long time ago
i only care about spartans --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqsAJQc-NCY
This isn't the 700 Club, this is sports talk.
Oh, well then let's get back on topic. Up next: man on man butt sex.
I was gonna make a gay joke in this thread... Butt fuck it.
You put people in adversarial positions and ask them to argue their position but then everyone's shocked when it's not PC...! You know the guy is a right wing Christian nut job so unless you're trying to fire him for something else don't put him in a position to set himself up to say something stipud.
I'm out of upvotes, but I'll catch you at 12:01.
Really ignorant stuff from Chris Broussard, but i'm not sure why ESPN is asking alleged reporters for their opinion on this. If Broussard had reaction from players, that would be one thing. Also, not to Wells this up, but he should read read Matthew 7:1 and promptly shut the hell up.
Suspend him, but don't fire him.
Using homosexuality, adultery, and fornication in the same sentence is a pretty terrible idea. If you can't see why people are offended, you're not very bright.
if chris broussard was so in his faith and being a christian, you thought he would have more issues with the amount of NBA players having multiple "baby mamas" than you would do with one player coming out as gay.........
but as i said..... the seat next to "wob" is free......
I agree. My reaction is "whoopie". The media is playing this like it's something huge to fit their narrative. It's not, get over it.
Here is the question posed to Broussard:
Q: "He mentioned in his article that he's a Christian as well. What is your take on that?"
Stupid question to pose on a sports channel, but they knew his stance from previous comments, so I guess they wanted it part of the dialogue.
Are you offended by the fact that he answered it honestly, or that he used words like homosexual, adultery and fornication? Serious question, it's difficult to see what case you are trying to make here.
So premarital sex is a huge issue for Broussard as well? Guess EVERY NBA ATHLETE EVER is in deep trouble in his book. Ignorant.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
Sorry, but the intolerance is being displayed by Brousard and those like you who allow it to continue.
Intolerance based up some two thousand year old work of historical fiction still makes one a bigot.
Sorry, I mean every NBA player ever except for AC Green.
Someone is really sensitive. I love it how people think what he said in the video is so bad when this board and a lot of other people are just hypocrites when it comes to dealing with issues like these. It's ironic how in your support of people being able to have personal preference that you would then criticize him for having his own opinion. He didn't say anything derogatory about Collins in the video either. Now outside of the video he may have said things, and those I can't comment on since i didn't look into it. He was asked for his personal view on the situation in the context of his faith and answered honestly. Really don't see anything he said in a derogatory manner.
Oh, I get it... everyone one but you should be tolerant?
