Heard the same about J5 until last season but Queze has the ability to be one.
Yeah, hopefully this isn't just more of the same. I think Darqueze will still play with a chip on his shoulder.
I was going to say the same thing. However, Johnny 5 seemed more concerned with talking shit than making plays last year.
Calmer than you are
I could see Darqueze being the 4th CB taken in this draft. I'd guess that would land him late 2nd early 3rd.
First round a real possibility for him next year. He'll have to do it on tape though because he's not a 4.4 guy I don't think.
A lot of the players seem to think he's one of the fastest guys on the team.
It's in this RCR if anyone cares to read about it.
Back with the inside word on the Spartans fastest man, a Plan A recruit for the offensive line, Applings offseason and much more ...

J5 made lots of plays last year to back his talk. He gave up some big ones but he was asked to do a lot.
Exactly. He wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made him out to be. His biggest problem was nobody could throw to Dennard's side of the field so he got a lot of balls thrown his way.
Freep article tomorrow: "MSUs top pro prospect to consider sitting out year to preserve health?"
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
This. Not that long into the year, Dennard overtook that #1 corner label and defenses were testing JA5 instead.
There were signs of this happening a lot, I guess. We primarily used Dennard to cover Michael Floyd last year.
Yeah, but he's a two-star guy. Therefore, he automatically sucks and I don't want him.
Queze's reaction to someone tweeting him the article:
Darqueze Dennard @DDennard_31
That's crazy... Humble and Hungry !! My dreams gon come to a reality!! Best believe that!! #Grind #BLESSED
Darqueze Dennard @DDennard_31
Chasing that BIG TEN TITLE!!! Its only right; The title gots to be in EAST LANSING NEXT YEAR!!
Love this quote:
The scout laughed about the two-star recruiting rating Dennard received coming out of high school.
"It's funny when you think of who some of these recruiting writers are grading these guys,'' he said. "And you got people out there buying their websites, paying money to read it.''
The scout said the three Spartans' underclassmen who elected to make themselves eligible for the NFL Draft all have third-round draft grades.
Drake Harris would destroy this two star scrub.
Man, 5-star QB Aaron Murray would absolutely destroy Dennard.
I thought we were the only ones that knew this.
Darqueze's knob was pretty thoroughly slobbed by announcers all season starting about half way through the Boise game. Guy was Queze Island out there.
I liked when Boise tried to throw 4 straight fly routes at him.
And the BS phantom PI call he got against Nebraska (or was that OSU -- can't remember now) -- most BS call ever!
Nebraska. Both him and J5 got hosed late in the game to steal that one from us. I've never seen a bigger hose job to a home team. That happens in Lincoln and I'm pissed but I've seen it before. I've never seen a home team get robbed like that. I'm still not over it and will probably take it to my grave.
Then Nebraska got handed another game when they played PSU, luckiest team ever.
I do remember that. Also got some luck against Northwestern to hold on. As much as I don't like Wisconsin, I thoroughly enjoyed the beat down they put on Nebraska in Indy. They had that coming.
I sat about 1/2 way up the stands on the west side of the stadium and had a blast until the end. If it was ONE call it would have been one thing but two of the worst eff jobs ever was just unreal. Wonder what the fallout would have been if those calls would have been made and SCum or O$U was on the receiving end? Yeah, it's a rhetorical question alright...it would never happen.
Yeah, that shit shouldn't happen to any team in their house. I watched that game with my old man, an MSU alumnus and big football fan. He's watched games since the 60's and he has never been that distraught about calls. He was less pissed after being disbarred. It was such a slap in the face. The world would end if that happened to UM, Nebraska, or OSU... but like you said, that's rhetorical.
Haha, I had that thought too (minus the reference to Tanfan specifically). Two stars Bell and Dennard, Three star Cousins... dang. Some people are going to have to start acknowledging our coaches just might know what the **** they are doing!
It felt so refreshing to see Boise fail when they tried to do that. Too long, teams have been able to target specific CBs... even J5. Queze is a good 5'11" - not huge for a CB, but not tiny either, and he plays with just the right level of physicality that a jumpball doesn't always result in either a catch or a PI.
