In 7th grade Spanish class my teacher was passing out Spanish names to everyone in class. Because it was a rather large class and in order to avoid longer and more sophisticated names, our teacher gave me "Juanito" and some other dude "Juan." At the time, I didn't quite understand it - adding "ito" to the name just seemed odd to me. Teacher explained that it was a way to endear the name, to make it more special. But it bugged me. The next year in Spanish she kept the name even though the other kid who previously had "Juan" move to Kalamazoo. So for two years I was stuck with "Juanito."
It's bothered me ever since. Don't know why. I guess I just have one thing to say about it now: Fuck Juanito.

We got to pick our spanish names. In 9th grade I was Jesus Diablo. My teacher got so pissed. I lol'd.
No one in our class got Jesus. My friend Donald Franklin got "Paco"
For me it was when my neighbor tied me up in his basement and made me watch him kill cats and dogs from our neighborhood. I couldn't tell or else he would kill my cat and mom.
I never had a Spanish name.
Played summer league baseball from age 7-14. Lost the championship when I was 9 and again when I was 14. I remember balling my eyes out in my last game because we lost by one run (yeah laugh it up but I hate losing and ending a sport on that note sucked).
But ill never forget the year before we were playing our rivals in the semi final. We made a late rally and tied the game. Runners on first and second with 2 outs. Our bats were hot but we had trouble with their bats as well. I called a timeout and told the coach we should do the hidden ball trick. We talked for a few gave the ball to the second baseman and headed away from the mound. Our pitcher pretended to adjust his glove off the mound and waited for the runner to take his lead. Once he did the second baseman tagged him out and we headed for the dugout hootin and hollerin because we could end it in the bottom of the 9th.
Of course their coach came to argue and so did our coach. Both coaches and the ump discussed on the mound that our pitcher was not far enough off the mound for the play to be legal. He was like 2-3 feet off the mound so everyone on the field could see he was off.
Then the worst outcome ever. The main ump of the league who watches over everything happened to be walking by the game and the other coach called him over. They talked for 5 more minutes and then he declared the pitcher was not far enough off the mound. HE WASN'T EVEN THE UMP NOR DID HE SEE THE PLAY. He made the ump of our game reverse the call. We ended up losing because that runner fucking scored. Ill never forget that game and that piece of shit changing the call. I will live with those 3 losses forever. We most likely would of won the championship because the other team made it by an upset because they beat a team who lost its pitcher. Damn did that suck.
To die in ann arbor is redundant
I also saw bozo the clown naked from the waste down. But he was wearing his shoes still.

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
I'm only size 10&1/2
There was a thread quite a while ago where people told some pretty cool stories. I posted one near the end that I would copy/paste about when me and a bunch of my buddies had a scary run in with some psychos when we went TPing. I can't find the thread though. Any help guys?
IIRC somebody on here was almost abducted by the Oakland County child killer...or so the story went?

I went to a mostly white, suburban, public elementary school. There was a girl at the school named Maria who lived at a nearby orphanage who was in my class. She was taken away from her father because he put her fingers on to a hot stove and burned her fingers down to stubs on both hands.
She had no friends. The other students, including me, were afraid to be touched by her. Some kids made fun of her, but most just avoided her. She always tried to keep a smile on her face and laugh it off, but I know that she had her heart broken every single day she went to school.
She was a very nice person with a beautiful face and a bright smile, but behind that you could see the pain that she suffered. She deserved better. I hope that she is alive and well and happy.

Jesus, that's heavy. You should find her and report back.
Kids can be cruel. If, for some reason, you're a target - kids will rip you to smithereens.
you are that little girl, aren't you?
I'm a scientologist and have reached OT3. Nothing from my childhood or any of the false implanted childhoods bother me. I can move ashtrays with my mind too.

My little brother riche got taken by some monster into the sewer. The monster killed a bunch of kids that summer 30 years ago. We went down and got the bastard clown though. Strange I completely forgot about it and just now started to remember while on vacation at my home town in Maine......
gHost lives such a sheltered existence he's still bothered about his Spanish name
Therefore in all future responses to gHost's threads we should refer to him as Juanito.
Here's to you Juanito!

I think the orphanage is still there. I wonder if they would share her information. I'm not 100% sure of her last name, but I think I know it. It's a very common Latino name.
She was at our school for 1st and 2nd grade; and then she was removed. I'd like to think that she was placed into a loving family, but she may have just been transferred to a different orphanage.
Maybe if the teachers would have sensitized the students to her injuries, she would have been received better by the other kids.
For the rest of her life, I believe she would have been dependent on the kindness of others. Without fingers, she wasn't able to feed or dress herself. Finding a job to support herself would have been extremely difficult.
1. Got assigned the role of Johnny Appleseed in a 3rd grade play. Music teacher just assumed I could whistle, but I couldn't. Every time my part came up in rehearsals I would just ef around until I eventually got kicked out. As a teacher now, I really have to wonder why that lady never asked me if I could whistle.
2. Suffered a racially charged beat down by a bunch of older kids when I was 12.
Oh, my Spanish name was Justino, which I really don't think is a Spanish name.
I'm seeing a pattern here. I think I had some lazy teachers.
Speaking of Spanish names...
How is Juanita?
