Maybe you should name a Piston that doesn't have a ring.
Alan Trammel and Lou Whitaker. If they played in NY they would be in the hall of fame.
Seriously what about osgood tho? Was never known as a premier goalie. Got the job done for a lot of years.
Double post so ill edit it and say suton, yea I know he's not Detroit but he was super looked over as a spartan. One of my favorites.

Can guys in the HOF (Dumars, Rodman, Larianov) really be considered underrated?
Don't think -- it can only hurt the ballclub
Hockey wise I look at a guy like Kris draper and Tomas Holstrom
so mattyfresh and so clean
Doug Fister. Dude is legit...and my favorite Tiger.
James Stewart. He rushed for 1,000 yards twice in a Lions uniform and scored double digit TD's one year. His only problem was that he wasn't Barry
Pistons Mark Aguirre
Plenty of examples of guys who got more national respect (Dumars) than locally. Locally, Isiah was more beloved, at least until he left. Larianov is revered in hockey circles largely due to his international play. Here, he was appreciated as a vet and specialist, but not as a truly great hockey player.
No enough people recognize Lidstrom as god so he is my pick.
Good call. The backcourt trio of Thomas, Dumars and Johnson is one of the all time best.
James Edwards is another underrated former Piston.
It was just a mistake;
I didn't mean to let them take away my soul.
Am I too old?
Is it too late?
Nick Lidstrom (as stated earlier, not enough people recognize him)
Nick is generally considered one of the best defensemen of all time and Coffey the best offensive player at that position. There is no way they can be considered underrated.
Completely agree, but I don't feel like they get the recognition they deserve. You always hear more about guys like Ovechkin, Crysby, or Gretzky. Hell, even in Detroit you hear more about guys like Yzerman and Howe (and I believe that recognition is completely justified - those guys are goddamn hockey saints).
I'd also like to add Ted Lindsay to my list.
