I'm talking about these things:
Was at Novi HS this past weekend for a swim meet. They have aluminum benches for the fans. It was the KLAA conference finals, so there are like 13 to 14 teams there. The place is packed. I get there about 90 minutes early, and find a seat. After chatting it up with the surrounding people, I get up to go to the bathroom about 10 minutes before the meet starts. The seat in front of me is empty. I get back from the bathroom, and the seat in front of me is now taken. A guy is sitting in one of the above contraptions and literally leaves me no room to sit. BTW, it is the extra wide variety of seat. The only possible way to sit is with my knees in the guys back. Now, I'm 6'3, 250 lbs, so I know I'm larger than most, but it's not like I'm freakishly huge. There should be, and is, room enough for me if the stadium seat is not there. He can basically move it forward or backward on his bench area, but the back kind of leans back a little bit. He has it positioned back too far, IMO. He turns around and says "Hey, do you mind not kneeing me in the back". He can clearly see there is no way I can fit with his seat there. I told him hes's going to have to move his seat up. He, of course, says he can't because there is no room. I told him he needs to get rid of the seat. FTR, the top of the back of his seat (which is where my knee caps line up) is at least 6" (probably more like 8", but I didn't get a ruler out) back from the back edge of his bench. Snide comments were made all meet long, but it never got more heated than that. It could've easily escalated, but thankfully, did not.
So, what is the RCMB's opinion on these things? Is the guy entitled to whatever space these take up? How far back is he allowed to have it? How much space am I entitled to? Does this only happen to me?
I took a dump on one of these once.
I was drunk.
It wasn't mine.
Doesn't just happen to you. But people are rude and entitled...
---"It's not over and it will never be over here."---
Good gravy. "Hey guys, this guy was, like, sooooo unfair to me. What should I do?"
Dude, just tell the bastard to get rid of the seat that is taking up your space, or you or he will have to move. Then instead of fighting about it, just move. Sitting there seething for hours is the wrong way to spend a day.
It was just a mistake;
I didn't mean to let them take away my soul.
Am I too old?
Is it too late?
+1 for the sentiment on those things. Additionally, cool story bro.
