A Marquette run in the Big East tournament puts MSU's preferred seed at the Palace at risk. So, RCMB, should I be rooting for the shamrock shakes tonight? After all of the dork on dork violence that came out of the UM/IU game on Sunday I don't want to take a bad step.
My dream scenario is: We take care of our own business, make the BTT championship game, and secure a 2-seed. scUM loses to PSU and Marquette makes a deep run in the BE Tourney. scUM ends up a 4-seed and outside of Auburn Hills.
I seriously doubt that it matters who we root for, whether we wear our lucky socks, or even are dead or alive.
You should know the three places where games are won.
Never! They kill people at ND
i only care about spartans --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqsAJQc-NCY
It's March, where we always control our own destiny. Cheer for whoever you want (except for UM of course).
wut....but, didn't you see what happened when we were told to root for Michigan!!!
1. Anyone who comes to a message board and asks something along the lines of "who are we rooting for today" in any sport is a douchebag. Seriously, what kind of ninny does this??
2. Anyone who says "toot" is a flaming douchebag.
I decided that having a 3 seed wouldn't be so bad if ND got the 6 seed in our bracket and we get to house them in the palace. No guarantees obviously but it would be pretty satisfying.
It's okay to root for ND when Mike Brey wears a necktie.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
Who cares about ND basketball.
I suppose you can "toot" for whoever you want.
I don't think you really answered the question.
This is "root for michigan" issue last week, just on a much lesser of a scale. I don't care too much about ND basketball, and a Marquette loss pretty much guarantees us a spot in Auburn Hills, so go Irish and your ugly unis!
Go ahead and root for the Irish. Apart from the tourney seeding issue, here are some more reasons:
1. It's almost St Paddy's Day.
2. ND is entirely irrelevant in basketball, so no harm done.
3. How great would it be for ND to get a relatively high seed in the tournament, start thinking they actually matter, then run into the Spartans and get jailsexed like in '79? They would have even more reason to duck MSU in OOC play for another 30 years or so.
To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan, and not quite enough time. -- Leonard Bernstein
You should. ND's history w/ MSU is totally different than um's. If ND can win and help the G&W, root for 'em.
Wait...you make decisions independent of tRCMB??
I think people should always say fart instead of toot.
"Is it okay to fart for Notre Dame tonight?"
I'm good with that is auburn hills is there closest regional... perfect scenario may well be marquette to win and penn state to beat the wolvies...... that way guarentee in auburn hills to be all green....
loser of the three is likely to be sent to nashville......
Merely questioning the correct answer is grounds for surrendering your Spartan Card to those who endorse the correct answer.
For the purposes of seeding.. you may want to root for an early exit for georgetown/louisville as well......
I'm so glad I tooted...not for Notre Dame. Just let one rip. Kind of enjoying it.
