RT @mattsokol9: Verbally committed to Michigan State University! #Spartans #GoGreen
Mike Wilson @SpartansOrDie 2m
Michigan State grabs a commitment from Rochester Adams tight end Matt Sokol. Nice pickup for MSU. Very athletic, big target.
Well, sounds like he's the prototypical Dantonio TE. Hopefully he follows in the steps of Dion Sims.

how many stars
Dantonio wants him and I'm pretty sure he knows more about this than you do.
i only care about spartans --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqsAJQc-NCY
does it matter... he was offered by both illinois and wisconsin in the last few days.... good get
If he was offered by Wisconsin, he must be pretty damn good. Wisconsin has a history of having good TE's, as does MSU. Dantonio definitely knows what he's doing. Quit bitching. We'll probably be fine.
The Fisher kid from CMU was a 2 star 6' 7" / 260#. OT back in '09.
Stars are the grist for the recruiting mill. They matter but with O-line and D-line it's possible for 2 - 3 star rated kids to pass their 4 - 5 star teammates if the staff is honest with themselves.
What makes me think Terry is referencing this comment?

welcome Matt! glad to add another spartan dawg
I figured that's what he was talking about, too.
Damion Terry @DamionTerry 20s
@spartanryan @TheOnlyColors it was a little bit ago it wasn't today
It wasn't here.
Any chance the Frey kid that visited today pulls a commit tonight?

I would have guessed the Marshall threads
As of right now, unrated. With the MSU commitment, and with the Wisconsin offer, he'll probably jump to three stars.
From what I've heard it's between MSU and Purdue now. Wilson said that he'll make a decision pretty soon.
Welcome to MSU, Matt! Seems to have a ton of potential and the fact that he pulled the trigger so quick makes me think he wants to be here. Forget the stars for a minute, you can't ask for anything other than that!

Yes! I can't wait to see this guy in green and white. Damion Terry will be raining touchdowns with this kid at the blocking and receiving end. I couldn't be any happier. What A Stud.
Hi Matt's dad!
I would say that Frey is probably down to us and UK, not so much Purdue... Sounds like a 50/50 chance we land him now.
Kids a heck of an athlete who has been blowing up on the recruiting trail. Believe he played QB/LB last season.
I actually got a text on Monday last week from an old buddy who doesn't follow recruiting but is close with a coach at Sokol's HS. He texted me saying that Sokol would be commuting soon. Mentioned that Sokal was starting to hear from some big time programs. He's got excellent speed for his size.
TE is obviously a huge position of need. Welcome aboard Matt!

This is funny, but my boss (his kids go to Adams) was telling me about Matt a few weeks ago--at that time, he only had MAC offers. He said he's basically just a freak of an athlete... apparently one of the best at his HS in the 100-meter dash, even though he's 6'5", 220. Doesn't play TE right now but everyone recruiting him thinks he'd make a beast receiving TE at the next level. Faster than many WRs, apparently.
Welcome to MSU Matt! Any chance you can enroll this summer?
