Great is hyperbole. Good is more like it. He was dominated in the Illinois game and he wasn't doubled there.
Craft and Burke are just better right now.
hoke- to alter or manipulate so as to give a deceptively or superficially improved quality or value.
Burke is a better player. Period. However, I think Appling is better than Craft overall. Appling is just worn out.
The problem that I have, and it seems others have w your post, is that you completely dismiss the ability of a great spartan before he's had full time to prove himself.
There are plenty of players in the NBA who you wouldn't have immediately said in college were potential contributors in the league.
Maybe you have disdain for Keith, which is your opinion, but there is no need to bash the ability of a spartan kid.
It was maybe more of statement of the general negativity and dismissive nature of players ability that is disgustingly pervasive on this board.
If you can't respect the work he and other Spartans have put in for your enjoyment and pride, and judge players yet to be completely fulfilled ability, what do you respect?
My hope is that we can make this place a board for good natured discussion, not a cesspool for misplaced frustration. That happens by calling out cheap shots like yours. Good day.

DUDE! I said "At his height he is going to have to be lights out from outside". Thats all I said in this whole thread. I think thats a fair statement when guys like Kalin Lucas and Dee Brown not make it.
You know what I was wrong because almost all NBA guards are lights out shooters, regardless of height.
Hell I never even said he won't be a lights out shooter.
Whats the issue man??
You should be more worried about Payne.
There is no way even if Appling stays another year he will make an NBA team."
My B MF, ire should have been directed toward bigcat who made the original stupid comment. Agreed that Appling needs to improve his shooting. Issues was dismissal of the kid without full 4 yrs. Redirect all previous criticism towards him.
Anyone worried about AP leaving next year needs to watch his segment from The Journey on B1G network.
Hide yo quarterbackz, hide yo kidz, the MSU defense is here
This. No disrespect, just find this speculation laughable.
Quick response to the 'suck your own dick ' comment: I can.( and its not because I'm flexible)

What rumors? Do you have a link? Or is this some more creative dork news? How about Byrd? Are there rumors of the white sniper going in the draft?
"Are you serious? Suddenly there would be no desire or motivation to play for the best coach in the game, one of the best universities in the country, great atmosphere, graduate, and keep the program proud? Whos the myopic one?
Depends what you define as 'big', since most teams don't play with two bigs.
laying in the weeds
Does anyone know if he could graduate early?
Payne still has the lung issues and like it or not that will be scrutinized heavily by the nba.
He can't grow the size of his lungs but he can continue to increase his stamina and ability to play longer stretches. Hopefully this is something that another year with the training staff will help.
I am far more worried about Payne leaving than Harris.
Don't get me wrong. Harris retuning with everyone next year would slate as as the favorites for the B1G, maybe more.
But we have no reliable interior presence without Payne. Costello is coming along, and in 3 years I think he is going to be great. But without Payne we would be a jump shooting team with 2 consistent jump shooters (Harris and Trice). And if Harris is gone, then what would we do? Give the ball to Dawson so he can dribble drive? Running Appling off the ball screen every play?
Payne is a coaches nightmare to game plan against. He has good post moves (still can't seal off his man consistently yet though), great outside shooting for a big, and the ability to dribble the ball from the 3 point line and dunk it in 3 steps. If Payne puts it all together at the same time next year, he is going to be nearly unguardable.
Even if Harris is gone, Payne at least gives our offense a sense of multi-dimensionality.
