Twinkies will live. Bet the farm. Someone will buy the recipe. Too big of a brand name to just go away.
If I had to guess, Mexico-based Grupo Bimbo will probably buy Hostess. Or, at least its most profitable brands like Twinkies, Cupcakes, Ho Hos. Donettes and Sno Balls.
They're flush with cash, and it's a perfect buy for them. They have a history of gobbling up unprofitable American bakery companies and cutting out just about every expense with cheap Mexican sugar and labor.
Attention Twinkies lovers! All is not lost. Parent company Hostess begins its liquidation process, and one rumored buyer is a global bakery conglomerate from Mexico.
