GUARD THE PERIMETER.
That is all.
If there's one thing I'm confident in, it's our ability to stop streaky three point shooters.

um has five guys out there almost all the time, so if they are guarding its going to be on the perimeter.
good call. Just sent him a text.
I am sure he is awaiting your suggestions. Head over to the Berk and tell him. Good luck.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Let them try to win the tourney like that. They will have no chance in hell.

Play our game...don't stretch yourself thin on high percentage shots by selling out to protect against low percentage shots.
Yea, if McGary wants to shoot 3's, let him.
I would love to see McGary take those fadeaway jumpers. The best part is he won't get anything better than that against Nix and Payne.
NOBODY on that team can check Nix and Payne. Pound the paint all game and win. Williams is a bum and he was doing anything he wanted down low.
P.S....I dont know shit. But that sounds pretty damn good.

MSU plays sagging man to man help defense and keeps people away from the basket, Izzo isn't going to change for one team.
UM is going to make some 3s.
but they won't shoot 70% like they did tonight. without Hardaway having his once every two weeks game and hitting 5 3s in the second half they lose that game by 8 points. he'll be clanking them next week on the road like he always does and they'll depend on Burke to keep them in it as usual.
Nix and Payne and Dawson are going to EAT a week from tonight. I can't fucking wait. Michigan made Amir Williams look like an NBA player tonight...and he's done diddly squat thusfar at OSU. They have nothing inside. and if Morgan is still gimpy and they have to start Horford we're going to destroy them.
Individually, yes. From what I saw today, UM collapsed into the paint on D when it was dumped inside. Nix tends to put on blinders when he gets the ball. Hopefully he'll be smart enough to kick it back out when we play them.
When Nix gets the ball and gets doubled immediately it is trouble. He needs to get better at seeing the double team coming and kick it back out.
As far as this thread goes....A note to coach Izzo would be getting through the Gophers and winning in Purdue to make next( and get healthy at the same time) Tuesday even more meaningful.
laughing my ass off, sadly as images of Kevin Coble, or Talor Battle, or Deshaun Thomas chucking up one handed lobs 5 feet behind the arc which bank off the glass and go in bounce across my mind. This is funny.
Hardaway was going off because A. His guy doesn't know how to go over a screen. B. His guy couldn't get over the screen because it was a moving screen every goddamn time. C. He got every shot wide open at the top of the key.
They only thing I'm worried about is our sagging help defense. OSU did the same thing and it cost them. I honestly think U of M would have lost handily had OSU forced them to make more difficult 2's by not sagging off. Michigan wants to jack 3's, not pound it in the post. We should play man-to-man and stay at home.
This. UM will win some games this year shooting lights out, but they're not going to stay that hot for six straight games to win a title.
However, people should keep in mind that UM will surely go zone to keep the ball away from our bigs. They'll probably force us to best them from outside.
Which Harris and appling or trice can knock down some 3's
If you look at the numbers in B1G play, though, this team isn't shooting nearly as poorly from 3 as many think. This team can knock down shots. I know it doesn't fit the narrative, though.
One issue guarding Hardaway is his height. He shoots over defenders.
Denigrate the 3-point shot all you want, Michigan's offense is REALLY good.
The defense has some problems, though.
How to guard Hardaway.....get in his head and fight through moving screens.
Your second point is UM's biggest concern. They got a couple of stops late when they needed them, but they allowed 72 points in regulation to a team that has limited offensive options, and shot after shot was totally open. They are, at best, an adequate defensive team. Their offense will carry them aways, but whether or not they can get enough stops will be the question against really good teams.
They got lucky last night to hit so many 3's.
Burke's shot at the end of regulation was ridiculous. Tie game and you're going to launch a fall away 3 from where he did? Drive the lane, and get fouled. Drive and get double teamed and dish it off. Set a double screen for Hardaway. Anything other than what Michigan did.
