We've taken 6 WRs over the last 2 years and a couple other guys (Shelton, D. Williams) who can also play there if necessary. If we take one WR in 2014 (Dareian Watkins) we will be fine.
Young and deep at WR. Take a deep breath and enjoy the cool kids that actually picked our school.
not really worried about WR at this time. Like previously mentioned I'm sure there are still prospects out there. I trust the staff's ability to identify players to help this team. My only worry currently is about how we are recruiting the O-Line.
They werent catching well last year. None of them are guarantees. Always need to bring in top talent. The Harris loss hurts.
They will improve. Not too worried.
Plus, who knows what kind of chemistry issues that would bring. Bad thing happens to those who mess with coach D, McCall and Pittman are recent examples.
Watkins and Ways would be the 2 I'd go for. No more than 2 in this class; need 5 OL and 2-3 DEs. DT is pretty solid; 1-2 should do it.
Wouldn't mind 2 TEs either.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
I think I might be surprised with 5 OL, as much as I might want it to happen. I'd anticipate 4.
laconophilia is everywhere...
I would be happy if we filled out the class with 15 more OL.
4 would just be ok. Would need 4 again next year.
Gianacakos is in, and Allen is likely. Beyond that, who do we have a good shot at? Richardson is the only one I can think of who we've offered thus far. We have an outside shot at Roderick Johnson, I suppose.
Others we haven't offered yet:
Connor Hayes - We might have a good shot if we offer him, but we haven't yet.
Martesse Patterson - Only been offered by Illinois, would be interesting to see what happened if we offered.
Don't know if I've ever agreed with a post more.
Does it really matter. Best I can tell WR is one of the loaded positions the Spartans have. Methink Harris pulled a Gunner Kiel.... ...I want to start by "not having to compete with anyboy for anything ever."
I don't mind when one recruit goes to scum because that's where he's always wanted to go.. really wanted to go..etc. But I NEVER respect any punk kid that jerks MSU around or insults them along the way (see that arrogant ful of himself piece of PSLWR shit that tossed the Spartan hat like a piece of trash.. to boos...while going to USC.. didn't work out all that great for Mr. Greater than thou. did it.
So for that reason.. here is hoping that a member of Narduzzi's Nitro's break this guy in half the first time he tries making a catch against the only colors.
You know, I love the fact that if I ever interview at IU college of medicine and feel like I bombed the interview, I can just yell "Fuck Michigan" as I walk out and know that at least one other person in the room agrees.
The shit that Harris pulled with having his coach call Dantonio was just immature. Really reflects poorly on your personal character when you don't even have the common sense/courtesy to do that. I know people always say "they're kids" but hell, in freaking elementary school they taught me what the meaning of responsibility and integrity was. Some people seem to have missed the memo.
Don't want Harris to get injured but i'd certainly enjoy seeing him get lit up by our safeties. And we have some headhunters back there. Jalyn Powell, Demetrious Cox, and even the hybrid guys like Delton Williams.
Hayes was who I was thinking of. Then again, there's usually someone that pops up during camp season, so I figure there'll be more than a couple new offers in June. Burkland didn't commit till late and wasn't boosted to a 4-star until the final rankings.
Not a great year for OL in the Midwest.
Which makes our whiffs in 2013 that much worse.
Yet we're 2-for-2 on plan A's right now, and are looking good for 2 other plan A's, which are just as good as anyone we get last year.
guys trust me guys when i tell you there is the next keyshwan martin out there just wait and see.
Are you still bitter because I was dead nuts on about the Lions and their horrible draft? Go back and see how silly I made all you Lion slappies look.
I never said fire coach D, but facts are facts and we can't close.
"Come and take them"
Scrap the program, IT ARE OVER!
4 plus 1-2 walk-on/pref walk ons like Conklin to roll the dice on would be fine. When it comes to OL they just need to have big frames and be decent athletes as high schoolers, get them on campus and see what Mannie and the coaches can do with them. Conklin was a no star and he looks to be our 3rd or 4th best tackle as a Freshman who drew praise from Big Will himself.
OL should definitely be the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th priority in this class for sure though, all the about receivers is silly.
