The midwest has the best micro/craft breweries in the world. Two of the top three in the world are in Michigan.
I agree, but none of those are in Lansing which is my point. In fact, I recommended both numbers 2 and 3.
I agree with you on 2 and 3...I especially like Founder's. But I was more digressing than I was suggesting he hop in a car and drive to Grand Rapids.
Ahhh, yeah, if looking to do a Brewery tour that would be a good choice. Could hit a few in a day if he planned it right.
Hey, Mcknurkle, any chance the young lady in your avatar has the initials J.L.?
If any in your group is into spelunking or exploring caves, you can dive down into AM Wood's ex-wife's pussy. WARNING - Go down in pairs for safety purposes. A group from Boise State went down last season and they never returned.
and for god's sake, let somebody know where you're going before you leave. one dude had to chop off his own lower arm when it got wedged in one of her fallopian tubes.
Just drive the Taco Bus up from Tampa & you'll have killer food all weekend.
if you had multiple days, i would say drive up to muskegon, and then north along the lake michigan shore til you hit mackinaw city. you're coming to east lansing, which is about as far away from a great lake as you can be, lots of flatland and farms. there's always the fabulous ruins of detroit.
if you guys play, the campus golf course is pretty nice, forest akers, play the west course. they may even have club rentals if don't want to have to bring your own. if one of you guys is a member of a private club, your pro could get you on lansing country club.
back in the day, a trip to el azteco for mexican food and pitchers of sangria was a good time. still might be. the topopo salad was tasty.
if you need cigars, campbells on MAC downtown can hook you up. look for the red door.
nowadays, i'm too old for most downtown EL bars. i usually go to reno's out on abbott north of campus. older crowd, and the last time i was there on a friday night, they had a 2-man band who played some great arrangements of old david bowie and pink floyd songs, among other stuff you don't normally hear. they were quite good. it's also where all the coaches radio shows are done.

Stick to Paul Revere's Tavern, or even a better bet Rum Rummers, and then there's Omars, which you'd love. I'd recommend any one of those, they are fun for the entire family!
We would like to invite you to tailgate with us. We have a good spot and a good group. Save my info and message me in the fall. Guaranteed good time.
no we don't. At least not like HopCat I can tell you that
Sorry, but there is no beer sold in Spartan Stadium. You'll have to do all of your drinking prior to.
Hope you all have some fun, OP.
Pretty much every bar in town has several microbrews on tap now. MBC is down on Washington Square too. And if you're downtown and into micros, minus well got to Taps 25 as well. As a matter of fact if you're over 30, downtown might be where you want to head anyway.
Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance
Thanks for the invite.
All in our mid twenties. We're only there two nights, sounds like we'll have enough to fill our time.
Seriously? Wow... that's awesome and I full plan to take advantage of being able to walk around sipping on my beer...
I'm kind of impressed that so many USF fans seem to be planning to make the trip. I guess that Pure Michigan ad campaign is working.
only place that is alcohol free is Munn Field (large public parking area just south of ice arena west of Spartan Stadium)
also make sure you don't wander off campus, as the open intox is only lifted on campus, and not all of EL.
Go Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Pioneers.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand
Oh come on, what's not to like about ELPD and all of their tear gas?
If you do decide to wander off campus and drink on the streets of EL, make sure you dress up in a Winnie the Pooh costume.
I second this. Do NOT open your beer until you cross Grand River into campus. You won't even see the tickets/cuffs/tear gas/tasers coming.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
If by "Chunky's", you mean Crunchy's, then hell yeah. Crunchy's is the best. Good craft beer selection on tap (it changes every couple days), and the burgers are damn good.
