Gotta love the arrogance an 8-5 season produces.
First let me say I possibly getting back to the Bo and Woody era. But I was thinking, If the other schools i
LOL, 34-29 the last half decade and they think there's a gap.
The irony in this second post is through the roof. One day they claim to be recruiting national champions and they are gonna win so much, the next day recruiting rankings dont matter, only the games.
You may have noticed my posts in that thread. I did my best to throw the cold water of reality onto the OP...

I love it how UM latches on to rival OSU now to show how elite they are.
What did they say during the hoops game last night - they are like 4-29 against OSU in hoops and football.
A surprisingly rational post right in the beginning of the thread. Hmm, interesting.
The B1G hasn't won a Rose Bowl in over a decade. scUM hasn't won one since 1998. I barely had pubes then. No room to throw stones.
Michigan is now 5-27 against coaches named "Matta", "Meyer", or "Tressel"
Exactly. Isn't Michigan 2-8 against them since 2001 or something like that? STFU and stop trying to be something you're not UM.
OSU would've won the B10 going away this year. UM hasn't won the conference since 2004. "Elite"
This. To the Wolverines' credit too, the post is +40.
To be fair, the stupidest members of the fanbase are usually the most vocal. We've been hearing a lot of them recently.
I think most realistic UM Fans know that they haven't won the conference in nearly a decade. You can't be an elite team if you can't even win your own conference that is the third or fourth most quality conference in the country to begin with in football.

The stupid tend to be the ones we focus on.
I'm sure there are plenty of idiots in our fanbase who obnoxiously post on other boards...
And I posted a realistic response in there basically saying that if there is a gap it's between OSU and the rest of us, and a list of teams including Nebraska, Wisco, Michigan, MSU and PSU all can and probably will make pushes to and above OSU levels every year, but I don't expect one team to be consistently there every year including OSU. And I didn't get banned and I even got a few upvotes, you just can't go in there being an asshole, that shit is only awarded with upvotes around here.
I honestly don't think Michigan will ever be on the same level as Ohio State.
When you think about it, even though UM will get the majority of head-to-head battles in state to go their way, there are always going to be guys that:
A. Just plain like MSU more (Reschke)
B. Commit to MSU earlier and won't flip after UM shows love late (Finley)
Michigan every year is going to have guys that they want pick Michigan State. Ohio State is not having that problem with any in-state kid. They get who they want in Ohio.
While Michigan recruits nationally its just not the same as the opportunity Ohio State has. UM is hot on recruiting right now, but with the influence MSU is starting to have in the state, I just don't see Michigan ever really separating themselves from the rest of the conference the way OSU can. Bottom line
Let's invade their board.
2012 Michigan recruits with tOSU offers, from the state of Ohio.
And you were heckled unmercifully. Not the smartest point you made there.
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
Oh...look...the Michigan recruiting expert is here to explain every thing.
Can you list all the players Michigan signed out of Ohio that Ohio State did not offer?
Holy shit. A rational post from a UM fan.
I love how the media is all acting like there is some new gap because of recruiting. As if there hasn't been the same gap for the last several years where Wisconsin and Michigan State have been every bit as successful as Michigan and Ohio State. Heck, Michigan has averaged a top 10 class for the last 5 years and it's gotten them an average of 6 losses a season. If MSU averaged 6 losses a season under MD we'd all shoot ourselves.
Because of better player evaluations and technology to evaluate more players, the gap is actually closing. There's not a huge difference between 30th and 5th anymore. Why? Because if you were 30th before, chances are you had to take some players that weren't evaluated as thoroughly and by as many people. The 30th ranked class's coaching staff would likely have to take a few players they barely know much about. Today, the 30th ranked classes coaching staff knows just as much about their recruits as the top rated class does. And furthermore, with better technology, better training methods for high school kids are now more widely available, so the gap between the top 100 players and the top 1000 players is smaller than ever.
Let them talk about gaps all they want. OSU wasn't all that good last year and were damn lucky to not have 4 or 5 losses. Michigan had 5 losses and was damn lucky not to have 7 losses. Nebraska, MSU, and Wisconsin will continue to be contenders each and every year for the B1G title. OSU is going to be in the mix too, Michigan has to prove they have stepped up into that group yet.

Perfect example of the over-the-top UM fans that just can't ever shut the fuck up.
Thomas and Smith I'll give you but its not like OSU didn't have their top guys locked up for the positions they needed.
Ben Gedeon was barely recruited by OSU and depending on what site you source, McCray didn't have an OSU offer.
Continue to ride on your rivals coattails pretending you're still elite.
So, Ohio State doesn't get whoever they want. Thanks, have a great day.
Ohio State didn't want or need most of the guys you listed. Congrats on scraping a couple of players out of Ohio. You're nowhere near the level of elite that Ohio State is and you continue to pretend you're still an elite program.
Should've kept MSU out of the Big Ten. We're a player in the conference now in both sports and Michigan will never, ever be "elite" again.
Happy trolling loser
Ohio State didn't get Thomas, and you're going to crow about that?
They got a better safety in Bell.
