If Burke and Hardaway stay in the first round, they are gone. Burke's childhood friend is getting paid in the NBA. No way he passes on a sure first round pick to play college ball another year. Just look at what happened toCJ McCollum at Lehigh.
I know a lot of you are not fond of LSJ since Rexrode left, but here is a short video of Payne talking about improving his game and Harris and Nix chime in with their opinions on Payne's play.
The NBA, more than any other league, drafts on hype. They call it "potential", but it is hype. That is why there are so many famous NBA busts and also why you can project, with relative accuracy, the NBA draft even before the start of the NCAA season. Zeller will be a top 5 pick regardless of what he does for the rest of the year. Same with Noel, and Goodwin and Poythress will be top 15 picks- all for a bubble team.
Payne did not get enough hype going into the year, but people are taking notice now. Outside of a big NCAA tournament run (the other place to generate hype), I think he stays. MSU can market him in the off season, and guys like Dakich will pencil him in as a first team all Big Ten guy, and he goes first round easy after that.
If we can trick Coach Krzyzewski into saying his own name backwards, perhaps he will be pushed back to the fifth dimension
The B1G has averaged about 4 guys drafted per year for a decade. I don't think they are going to somehow have a dozen this year.
Scouts chime in on Payne.
Interesting....I wonder if the blue wall has been running articles on UM players bolting.
His decision to make. He may think that he is ready.
I agree but do think Payne will seek the advice of the experts. Beginning with Tom Izzo.
Also the kid at Duke. It is his second foot injury in a year.
I like how the scouts mention in that article that seeing him without Nix will be a big indicator for him. Honestly, I feel like Payne is the only threat to leave and he is more likely to stay.
I think most UM fans I have spoken with are considering it a given that Burke is gone and likely that Hardaway is gone.
Robinson will be gone too.
Burke, Hardaway, GR3, Zeller, DeShaun Thomas, Oladipo, maybe Watford, one or two from Minny, that guy from Illinois...
It's a possiblilty the Big Ten could have 10+ drafted.
Chad Ford updated his top prospect big board today (I'd link it but it's ESPN Insider). Gary Harris comes in at #32. Big Ten in the top 35:
Zeller - 7
Burke - 16
Oladipo - 17
GR3 - 18
Harris - 32
You of all people are trying to call out others for embarrassing posts from the past?
Mr 5 star Payne is playing like a low level 3 start recruit. Nix is horrendous at every facet of the game. Gauna is a complete stiff. Cos
he gone? If so....WE gone next season
You've been Fletched.
