Football is carrying over to basketball. Games like this game are unwatchable.
It's an NCAA rule that is the problem. Hate the rule not the refs.
I understand the call on Nix but you have to T up the coach to after he walks away
Agree.. Little guys raking at a big's arms after a rebound deserve to catch anything that comes their way.
I'm not talking about the elbows. I'm talking about games with 50 free throws. Games where bullshit calls change the game completely.
I wonder how many time Roy boy or K have been T'ed up at home in nonconf games..
There is no rule that says "officiate as poorly and inconsistently as possible".

Basketball and football are slowly becoming unwatchable. How many players have actually been seriously hurt on elbows like that? Maybe a few stitches, but concussions? Maybe a handful?
Baseball's strict insistence on not changing it's rules might just be on to something...

Over 60 free throws actually. Game lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes. That's on the refs.
And this is a great thread considering your name on here btw. Lol.

"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." - Mark Dantonio.
They're doing just great if you're one of the protected programs. Let's see this pussy bullshit happen to OSU football, IU basketball, or BRASKA FOOTBAW.
Boo this man!
College basketball has been over officiated for decades. Nothing to see here.
Mike Eades is either on the take or has a serious issue with Coach Izzo. It has been a long time since I have seen one referee consistently refuse to make calls on one end and go out of his primary area to make calls on the other end. I'm a ref - I regularly work a 3 man mechanic - i know how the court is supposed to be covered and what a foul is. Mike Eades had multiple calls in his primary on MSU's offensive end and refused to blow his whistle (really forcing his partners to make calls - including KA's and1 with under 15 tics left) and on the Boise offensive end made multiple calls outside of his primary. The middle should not call opposite side reaches that are clearly in the trail's primary. And what was that tech call on Izzo? Nonsense. Seriously, what was the line on the game b/c Eades single handedily kept the game well within the spread. His financials should really be reviewed.
That's just like your opinion man
Where were the refs from?
The stupid elbow rule and phantom tech on Izzo was 4 or 5 free throws and the ball. How the Fuck do u get a tech when walking away?!

You only have yourself to blame..
No, I don't understand the call on Nix. Either make the call right then and there or don't f'n call it at all. No rule should require a foul be determined by watching replay that took literally about 10 minutes to determine when you combine the 2 calls.
Enforcing the rule by watching video is what makes it bad. Neither elbow was flagrant, just part of the game you have to accept if you're going to fight for the ball when someone has the ball up above their shoulders. Hell, the only reason the Boise players got hit is because they were reaching in, which is a foul and doesn't make 10 minutes to determine it.
Question - how do ref's who pull this garbage have a job? Isn't their performance reviewed?
Good question that I would like to see answered as well.
In football, it is done by the conference itself since they work for the conference. But basketball offciating is not run by the conferences, at least not as much as football is.
Do basketball offcials have a review after every game, and if so, by whom?
The only reason they got called was because Boise flopped like they were coached by Gordon Bombay.
Nothing like a game with 46 fouls and 54 free throws. Doesn't get any more exciting than that. The worst part is that you know Wisconsin is practicing the new "stick your face in his elbow and then flop" drill as we speak.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dulls the pain of stupidity. - Frank Leahy.-- If you're going to be stupid, be smart about it. - Mike Milbury
It's an all over problem. I coach MS basketball and I'm tired of telling my boys to "just play through it". At that level, they feel bad for the lesser teams and allow that team to do whatever they want to keep the game close.
Last night's MSU game was officiated like a middle school game.
