The last thing they should do is reward a player that's fouling by giving the fouled player a technical foul. If you get an elbow to the head, go ahead and call the call the foul (but don't take 10 minutes and slow mo to do it). But if you got the elbow to the head because you yourself were fouling the guy that hit you, that should be fair game. There's essentially an incentive to foul on a rebound then so you can get an elbow to the head, a tech call on the guy you just fouled, and the ball. The player put himself in that position because he was fouling, don't reward the player for it.

As far as the Izzo tech im fairly certain he threw his clipboard down
Exactly. The elbow only happened because of the foul/contact that was initiated by the Boise player.
Really? The couple replays I saw it was just him hitting his clipboard. He could've thrown it down off camera though.
I thought he did and then the assistants scramble to pick it up before the ref looked over. But I haven't seen the replays and could be wrong
Bumping my own post. That's right.
After what happened today in that Lions game, I'm even more convinced that baseball is going about things in the right way.
"We review every scoring play. Unless you throw the flag, and 3 people are eating popcorn in the first row, one player has his jersey untucked and it a Thanksgiving game during an even numbered year."
