I don't get this one:
Saw it live at the bar and my buddies and I were flabbergasted that it was called. Shoulder to shoulder, perfect block. Just terrible.
If you don't get it you haven't been watching football the past couple years. You're simply not allowed to hit people out there anymore.
I am gravely disappointed. Again you have made me unleash my dogs of war.
Hardest hit I have ever witnessed. Jumped out of my chair when i saw it
I think we've established the illegality of decleaters.... Fundamentally legal or otherwise.
I would feel bad if it wasn't Nebraska
football is continuing its transformation from a contact sport into a non-contact sport.

I'm fine if they want to fundamentally change the rules of football to protect noggins, but then they need a new call. These types of flags need to be called something like "hitting too hard" or "not being polite to an opposing player". Quit fooling us and J Adams, that's what it really is.
The real shame is it didn't alter the outcome if the game either way. Would be great if they lost it on that.
I guess you're too young to know Nehemiah Warrick. Google it.
agree with tig and eggy: eff UNL....I'll also say this: it wa 49-10 at the time. The call had nothing to do with the outcome of the game. That said, it shouldn't be a doubt: brutal call as the guy was right there to make the tackle andd got blown the hell UP. I guess they want flag football I dunno.....
I don't see how football can realistically have it both ways. They can't have fast and athletic players and no hard hits. Speed = hard collisions and modern pads allow for greater speed and athleticism.
My Whiskey Blog
Can't hit someone hard anymore.
I know all about Nehemiah warrick and the hit he put on Kyle Jefferson in '07, and the hit that Ware put on Sandeman that absolutely put him to sleep, and this hit was the hardest I have ever seen, without question.

Very hard to figure wtf is going on with these calls.
Did anyone see the hit on the Georgia QB in the Bama game ? Murray had thrown a pick & was just standing at mid-field during the runback & got blind-sided / drilled in the head by a Bama defender. NO FLAG ?!? Replayed multiple times, obvious PF, the announcers were shocked at the no call.
There appear to be no standards from week to week, conference to conference, re what constitutes a penalty re these types of hits ?
Kenny Bell's block was in a class all by itself.
yeah, we all saw it and sure it should have been flagged but the $EC is big boy football. You have to straight up murder someone to get flagged for 15 in that league. Big Ten is SO soft....I notice Bill Lemmonier didn't ref the game last night. Too fucking bad we had him a year ago or we probly go to the Rose Bowl: never forgive that old fuck.
meh, not a penalty to me, you are on the field you are in the play
QB that just threw an interception or not
The hit on Murray made Adams' hit in the NEB game look like a little bump. You're right about the B1G refs though,,,,,any contact gets flagged,,,its bullshit.
Atrocious, but I absolutely don't feel bad for Nebraska. That wasn't a personal foul, and the block by J5 was far less violent and objectionable than that one.

Mike Pereira is an idiot. There was no helmet-to-helmet contact. Shoulder met chest. The refs are going to call that almost every time because they're also idiots and think any hard contact to a guy not paying enough attention is illegal. No reason for Pereira to defend the call, though.
Also, my favorite part is Bell laying the BOOM, then walking away like nothing happened. I think he also knew the dude was hurt and didn't want to celebrate that.
The stupid Husker fans don't like hearing about how the same call kept them in the game vs. us. They have removed comments, lol. This was in a blowout, imagine how mad they would be if it helped cost them the game.

Pereira is awful. Watched him bumble on about Wisconsin touching the onside kick against oregon state, said it definitely happened, Wisco gets hosed, then writes an article about how Wisconsin got hosed. Shut up, douche.
I was about to post the same thing when I saw you already did. But I'm going to post it anyway.
