K-State is great. They're my Big XII team of choice in basketball & football.
Put in Cousin!
I was talking about KSU.
Oklahoma, WVU, OSU, and TTU all in the top 25 when they lost to KSU.
One of my best friends is a KState Grad, and he's one of the few CFB fans that I know loves his team as much as I do the Spartans. Thus, I keep a close eye on KState.
The OP is a fucking moran. I can't, and won't, rehash the arguments made by others on this board, but Snyder is the BEST coach in CFB bar none. What he has done, with what he has, in Manhattan is amazing. Simply amazing.
Kstate is ABSOLUTELY the MSU of the B12 (Okie State is in the discussion too) land grant school, with an arch rival who cares more about an overrated out of state rivalry, that is screwed over for UT (scUM) and Okie (O$U). KState is a school for the people, while KU is a school for the elite. KState has an excellent vet program - just like MSU. Kstate embodies the land grant ideal that we established and hold so ideal.
The OP is part of the problem with the Heat, Cowboys, Yankees/Sawx, Favre, Tiger, Romo obsessed culture we have. You were part of the reason we got an undeserving Bama team instead of Okie State. You're the reason why the cowboys are on TV EVERY FUCKING WEEK.
As Spartans, who have been repeatedly kicked to the curb by CFB's elite and blue bloods, we need to absolutely support the Oregon State, KState, NC State, A&M* and Miss States of the world. We are the universities of the people, and the athletic programs of the people.
I feel ashamed that the OP is a Spartan.
*Fuck their fans and trying to steal narduzzi; but they had to deal with their own Michigan type demons.
idiot. This is why schools like MSU don't get to BCS games....
Formally know as SouthFloridaSpartan
Fuck this thread
"If you're worried about Wolverine fans, just move to Pasadena. You'll never have to deal with 'em."
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
This is a true statement, however, my acknowledgement of this fact has no bearing on the original statement that lead off the thread.
K-State is the B12's Minnesota Gophers equivalent...however, if they pass the test of the BCS formula, they deserve to be in the title game.
Oklahoma State is closer to being the MSU of the B12, than K-State. K-State is more the Minnesota of the B12.
Regardless, K-State deserves to play for the title if they are one of the teams selected.
I meant more in terms of fan support, rival support, conference support, and athletic success.
Before Snyder, worse than Minnesota. Between Snyder's first and second tenure, sure. But under Snyder, saying KSU is Minnesota is not a reasonable comparison.
You mean a side from the fact that kstate has won a lot more has a hall of fame coach and likely this years heisman winner.
More like Penn State.
Six Top 10 finishes for each since 1993. Four BCS Bowls for Penn State and two for Kansas State. Eight 10-win seasons for K-State, seven for Penn State. K-State also had seven out of nine seasons where they won at least 10 games. Penn State had three of four, but no stretch as impressive as K-States.
This thread is full of people from the Great Lakes born and bred on 20-17 Big Ten games who have never followed K-State or the Big 8/12 closely and don't respect the type of football the current Big 12 plays, so they choose to ridicule out of ignorance instead of educate themselves on what is currently a great football program.
Ask our Nebraska friends, they'll tell you what a pain in the ass K-State is.

#1 All three most recent polls disagree with you that they aren't deserving.
#2 "Appeal" is a matter of personal opinion and has no place in the BCS selection process. Of course, it does to some degree, because of idiots like you, but it shouldn't. All personal biases should be removed from the process, and only objective data should be used.
#3 KSU runs a fast paced offense that can score a lot of points led by a Heisman candidate QB. You may not like their style, but nobody would agree with you that they're vanilla.
"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
If K-State makes the BCS Title Game would they be the team with the smallest stadium to ever play for a title in the BCS era?
I believe the current record is Autzen at 54K, and Bill Snyder Memorial is 50K, though if you compare attendance #s with Miami, KState probably gets better crowds.

MUH STADIUM CAPACITY
Shut the hell up 22Deuche22.
Probably. And perhaps all this success will put them on a track toward improving their facilities.
To have this tread up on this board is a complete embarrassment
Fuckin double confirmed that down vote on the OP. KState ftw!
I think it's actually a source of pride - I sent it to my aforementioned KState friend to show that Spartans and Wildcats stand together against the Tyranny of ESPN, BCS, and the blue bloods of football, and he's forwarding it on. We don't compete for players, airtime, money, or games against KState, so if there is a friendship between the two teams devoted internet fanbases, all the better.
Yeah I see your point. Didn't think about it that way
I don't have any problem with K-State making the MNC but I still think the SEC Champ should be their opponent. If you want to be the king you have to beat the king, and the SEC has won the last 6 National Championships. JMO.
I don't think you have anything to worry about. The networks want it even less than you do. KSU will go down in the B12 title game, if not before.
Vim -- noun: robust energy and enthusiasm : VITALITY
There is no way K-State goes down in the Big 12 title game.
The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
