Wegman's is #5 best company to work for
From Yahoo! Finance: In its 16th year, here is Fortune's ranking of the best workplaces in corporate America.
He is going to punch you in the face.
How the hell can a Grocery Store be that great to work for? I am going to go insane. I am pretty sure they have something in their musix at the store that brainwashed people.
Yes I am.
Wegman's is a pretty legit grocery store
Yes but it is still just a grocery store. I know they have a good deli. But it is still just a place to buy food. Hell at Meijer you can buy sporting goods, and hunting and fishing lisences, can't do that at Wegmans!
Do cashiers at Wegmans turn down high paying jobs because they work at effing Wegmans? The whole PA and NY areas are crazy. It is a Grocery Store! Not a church! Not Google. You can't go there watch the game while eating the food you bought there. AHHHHHHHHHHH!
I think I am going to make the long and arduous 5 minute drive to my local Wegman's to hit the sub shop for a 14" Danny's favorite on white.

I thought you weren't cleared to drive? That is the reason you fell, you were brainwashed by Wegmans and weren't paying attention!
Wegmans is on that list regularly, and I believe it has reached the #2 spot. It is a huge point of pride in the Rochester community. I once held the same position as you on Wegmans. I used to say it is just a grocery store. But after I got taken away at midnight and sent to "re-education" camp, I changed my position and now regard Wegmans as one of the best business ideas to have ever been conjured up.
For the record, the Meijer closest to me is a "Meijer Marketplace" and only sells food, and you can watch a game at Wegmans. They have TVs in the cafe area, and they will throw on sports (without audio) if you ask.
My mission in life is now to take down the Wegmans Empire. I am going to contact Deadspin and have them dig up some dirt on them. I am sure they are a cult, or donate money to a terroist organization, maybe part of Amway?
It's not a cult. It's just a way of life.
I think there was some controversy about the conditions at one of their own chicken farms. I am not sure about the specifics because nobody will talk about it. I was told to "shut up and leave it alone." Well, maybe not but the controversy was real.
I am going to find out and destroy them! You call it a "way of life" I call it a cult. If I have to tell you the name of the store I am going to EVERYTIME I am going there something is wrong. When I go to the gorcery store, I just say "I am going to the grovery store". I don't need to say which one, and everyone in that damn area goes to Wegmans so WHY DO THEY NEED TO SAY IT?

Pretty sure you can and Wegmans is the shit. You jealous.
I'm gonna stop there after work and get all the stuff you can't get at Meijer.
Same reason people use kleenex, chap stick, or any other name brand to describe a generic product.
To be honest, a lot of people buy Wegmans brand products so it kind of makes sense to say Wegmans. More than any store I have been to, Wegmans has a huge line of quality store brand items. They even have some of their own products in their "natural and organic foods" areas, and they do an exceptional job labeling their own products in terms of ingredients relative to one's type of diet.
You're looking at it wrong. PA/NY must be Satan's butthole if Wegman's is recognized as a leader in the area's economic, cultural and professional life.
I need to go to Publix tonight really quick.
Now knowing what 1995 is like all over again! Thank you 247 technology!!
Well I stopped at Meijer, bought groceries and some shot gun shells. Can't do that at Wegmans!
You gonna kill some wabbits?
As soon as we get some snow again. Or I might head a little north to get the Beagle out. Been a pretty good season so far.
Am I supposed to have heard of this "Wegman's" place?
No, just walk away from the thread and never head to the NY or PA area. Just keep shopping at normal Grocery stores. My life has gone down hill since I met my wife and had to start hearing about this place and then being subject to it when I go to NY.
No. Just stick to Jewel-Osco. Wegmans are already too crowded.
You forgot Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.
Well it has been rated the number 1 grocerie store in the country. All joking aside it really does have a ton of options and good prices.
