Comes in with party of 10 to Applebee's. Parties of 8 or more get auto 18% gratuity added.
Asks for separate check. Crosses out the auto tip & writes "I give God 10%, why do you get 18?" on the bill.
Another server posts pic of receipt on Reddit. Shit hits fan for "pastor". "Pastor" gets server fired.
Public Documents, Mug Shots
Guinness makes you drop mud.
In the interview I saw the pastor just seemed like a complete bitch, not even self righteous, just doesn't give a fuck about anyone but herself.
I wonder how much of god's 10% that fuckbag takes so she can drive around in her Cadillac? What a piece of shit.

They both acted like jerks, but I hate how entitled these low-wage workers are about tips. She deserved to be fired for the receipt being posted online.
While she does look manly, I don't know that she deserves to be called a he.
So many possible jokes...
I edited after seeing the other posts. Did not read full story, had seen it posted elsewhere and just assumed it was a man of the cloth.
here's a tip for you. quit eating at applebees you fat lard.
Should've wrote brah on the receipt also
The 10% the "pastor" tithes from her full time regular job is to her own ministry...run out of a store front...with a congregation of 15. Simple tax evasion.
You know what would be hilarious. Walking into a restaurant and telling someone up front you aren't going to tip them. It would be awesome sitting there waiting for a table in an empty place because not a single person will wait on you. As a matter of fact, why not go in and announce that you don't tip more than 15% and see how your service is.
Now knowing what 1995 is like all over again! Thank you 247 technology!!
The 18% was an automatic gratuity. The store adds that itself, not the server.
It would be more awesome if restaurants paid their employees a decent wage and didn't expect me to have to cover for them being cheap.
Maybe servers tips should be decided on how good of service they provided.

That's even worse. Low-wage employee knows she will get 18% no matter how bad the service is. So annoying. Wish we would be more like Europe about this.
Either way you'd pay for it whether its an increase in food prices or you tip. The fact you get to choose what to pay the server based off their quality of service is a good thing, as opposed to what would essentially be auto gratuity on every bill if the servers all got paid $10 an hour and the food prices reflected that.
I would rather pay a fair price for a meal than subsidize someone's salary.
*Hi-jack* I don't have a problem with the automatic gratuity for large parties, but I despise when the server doesn't go out of their way to alert me of this. I feel like they're trying to double dip.
If they tell me in advance about the automatic gratuity then I throw in a little extra if not, all they get is the automatic %.
They were both in the wrong. Moving on, why is this a story?
My guess is that if you go into a place and you told your server from the beginning that you tip a minimum of 20% and most of the time 25%, you would get exceptional service. If you told your server you don't tip more than 10%, you will probably get your food spit in. People know the customs in the US, why are they acting so entitled that they don't have to tip or they can get away from tipping less than is customary?
If you don't like that the restaurant doesn't pay their employees, and you know that you have to tip, don't eat out, its that simple, you don't have to be a pompous jackass from Resevoir Dogs.
Then the advertised price for your meal would just go up, it's all really the same, just with this system asshole servers can get stiffed, and asshole tippers can get exposed.
So the fuck what if she gives god 10%. Something tells me god doesn't need the money. Bell, on the other hand, is essentially paying herself, which is a selfish and horrid act. She already is probably tax-exempt. In essence, she is taking money from the donating boobs to tell them feel good stories, tax-free. The fact that she was blaming applebee's for ruining her reputation is ludicrous. She ruined her own reputation, it just got publicized quickly.
Here's a clue pastor: The waitress gets 18% because you are a large party and that is standard protocol. Also, she's a REAL person who is working to serve your stupid ass. You aren't complaining about the service, so tip and move on, you cheap shithead.
So I shouldn't tip based on service, but I Should tip 20% because its custom?
If the restaurants paid employees a reasonable wage to start with, they could attract better people because there will be less turnover and fewer crappy waitstaff who think it's OK to post receipts online.
When it was first posted on reddit the servers friend said that the bitch (pastor) specifically asked for separate checks to get rid of the autotip. Then proceeded to pay for all of the bills. Even so the autotip was automatic by table/party size, not bill size, so it was still there.
You can do that for groups smaller than 8
