Supposedly critiques the Freeh Report and submits hundreds of letters from former players (unbiased opinions of course.) Oh, and they said the Freeh report does the victims a disservice! Lol....wut?!
My thought is, why now? Let it go.....no one is talking about it anymore. Those Paterno's are just low class losers.
The thing the Paternos, and the Penn State community, fail to grasp is that just because JoePa did a lot of good (and he did) doesn't mean a major failure in oversight isn't possible; simply because someone does a lot of good doesn't mean that it's impossible for that person to also do bad things; simply because someone does a lot of good doesn't mean that we can't also discuss the bad things they did.
JoePa was a person who did a lot of good, and had at least one major failing that indirectly, but incontrovertibly, led to the further assault and rape of many boys and young men. He was a good person who did something really really bad. To judge him based only on the cover up, or only on the good things he did, would be a disservice to the man's life.
I won't trust the Paterno report for anything other than an attempt to save Joe's legacy, but I never went all in on the Freeh report either.
Couldn't care less about the whole situation.
What is McQuery up to these days?
I had a paternoty report once too. I was the winner.
You're in college. The window of opportunity to drink and do drugs and take advantage of young girls is getting smaller by the day.
And by report, you mean manifesto.
Oh good, we finally get to hear about all the "evidence" that Jay Paterno kept talking about.
It had been really nice not hearing anything about this aside from all the rhythmic slapping sound jokes that were tossed around when Payne was destroying Penn State.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
What do former players have to do with the 2-3 key moments when Paterno and the powers that be made a few decisions that allowed a pedophile full access to all PSU facilities to bring victims to, to not be punished or fired and to not be kicked off campus or be sent to the police?
I'm guessing that the letters from players will be less fact-based and more "Hey, he won a lot of football games so can we just forget about the rapey stuff?"
Will it be dedicated to the memory of Mike Mauti's knee injury?
This. Freeh report was filled with what was technically circumstantial evidence. No way I trust a Paterno report or a report endorsed by PSU or the Commonwealth of PA.

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
Nothing. Unless you're a lemming in PSU cult.
I'm sure Matt Millen will be featured prominently.
Don't think -- it can only hurt the ballclub
Does this mean the statue gets put back?

The Lemmings don't realize that their being Lemmings is the exact reason the NCAA is pushing them over the cliff, a second time no less.
exactly. They think because the people involved are either dead, in jail, or fired, that there shouldn't be anything done to the school/fans. They fail to realize that their blind faith, the protests after paterno was fired and such, is the reason the environment with which sanduski had to operate was created. Football over ruled everything else at PSU and because of it little kids got abused.
The first time MSU basketball aired in France the French surrendered to Tom Izzo just to be safe.
Wonder if there's a Steubenville addendum. Could have friends and family of the Rape Crew talking about what great guys they are and how the whole Anonymous thing has done a great disservice to the girl they pissed on.

you know what? FUCK the Paternos AND Ped State.
For me, there are numerous lessons to be drawn from the Penn State situation in terms of how it applies to my university and the athletic programs that represent Michigan State. I can only hope that every Spartan would pressure our school to do what's right by the children abused, to take any punishment by the NCAA with both grace and humility about what's truly important, and if anyone (coach, former player, alumnus, etc.) wants to try to defend anyone who had the ability to stop that horror and didn't, they'd be publicly and summarily rejected.
Penn State and the Paterno family continues to embarrass themselves, but since they only seem to want to talk to each other in the bubble of Happy Valley, they miss the damage they continue to do to their institution and the legacy of Joe Paterno. Your school and storied coach turned a blind eye to child rape. If that doesn't cause you to look in the mirror, you truly have no shame.......

Well the publicity has died out a lot, they've got to do something to get it back, right? How dare Manti Te'o steal their scandal thunder?
Bump, where the news????

The post had a front page paragraph about it.
freeh was incomplete, Jopa was a saint, Paterno family are victims in all this. PSU football should get all the penalties over turned. Freeh doesn't take into account jopa's entire life when investigating this incident.
I'm open to the possibility the Freeh report was inaccurate. I'm inherently distrustful of anything that happens quickly when emotions are riding high.
One thing that was mentioned on ESPN, that I think may be fair, is that the Freeh report is under emphasizing how hard it is to identify pedos.
