No you're going to fight a guy because he keeps making fun after you told him to stop. This kind of stuff happened on every team I ever played on. Well, minus the hole in a hotel wall.
Could be why Byrd's a captain.
Probably. You're also the only one here with a micropenis and a stick shoved so far up your ass, it's clouding your better judgement.
Fans of other teams will no doubt try and make this into something sinister, but it was probably two guys who spend way too much time together being stupid. Cleaves fought nearly everyone on his team at one point or another, the Flint guys most of all.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Fight is a strong word, this was just two guys getting in each others faces and pushing each other around I think. When you're roommates with someone, plus you spend crazy amounts of time together with practice and games and travel, and probably have classes together. Even for great friends and teammates that's a whole lot of time to spend together, you both will get on each others nerves for really small shit, no getting around that. But that's also the thing that people are forgetting, they are still good friends, they push each other around and that's that, 20 minutes later I'm sure it was like nothing happened. That happened a million times between me and my roommates in college, it's nothing, it just happened where some dickhead PSU fan hotel worker could blow it out of proportion by calling the police and making it a news story for the blue walls of the world. This was and is a non story, and all you have to do is look at that first play where Dawson fed the ball to Payne when they first got on the court to know that they are all good.
Not to make light of domestic violence, but these two sound like an old married couple. Dawson leaves his jersey behind, AP starts riding him, Dawson goes off. Probably just another day in the life of this odd couple.
AP is happy go lucky, BJ is emotional and intense.

I doubt the players are in charge of bringing jerseys to road games.
In a way, I like the fact that Payne was riding Dawson about this. It's showing that Payne is holding the younger players more accountable for their mistakes. To me, that sounds like leadership. Can you imagine if Dawson did this on Cleaves or Walton's time?
Of course, we don't know the specifics, but, from the sounds of it, it was pretty harmless.
With this in mind, I really like Dawson (I know some of his family personally) and, from what I heard, he is a really good kid. Sounds like he just forgot. I'll bet you he won't forget again.
If you can do a half-assed job of anything, you're a one-eyed man in a kingdom of the blind.
- Kurt Vonnegut
You get it, the "I bet he won't forget again" that is exactly the case.
Is it me? Or does Nix seem a little nonchalant about his leadership role?
Sounds like they should change the policy if its so common to screw it up. Can you imagine if pro athletes had to do that?
I think it's a lot worse than nonchalant. It sounds petulant and butthurt to me. Nix doesn't seem like someone who is great at taking criticism in that article, like he's sort of exasperated that Izzo has been on his ass for 4 years all while coming to the realization that he never really reached his potential and probably won't be drafted or a star in the NBA.
Wow, way to not read too much into a two sentence quote...
Whatever Izzo puts on Nix's plate at this point, he needs to man up and do it. Izzo stood behind Nix last year after his off court escapade.
I've hated Nix pretty much since day 1. It's totally irrational but I haven't seen him do shit and I can't stand the way he plods down the court. Like I said totally irrational.
And the whole weight loss and then regain crap then loss again has been an annoying story. Oh and the dumbass "I might transfer so I'm not going to hawaii" stuff sucked as well.
But again it's totally irrational and I just straight up don't care.
You don't care about what?
Does someone need to remind Derrick about what he said publically 2 years ago about a certain senior captain?
What did he say?
That I'm being completely unfair and irrational.
I agree it's no big deal and happens all the time among friends, but by getting into a little scrap in the lobby of a hotel makes it become a little bit of a story. If it happened in their apartment, at practice, in the lockerroom, we would have never heard about it.
If 2 players from OSU got into a fight in the lobby of the Kellogg Center, do you think someone from the Kellogg Center would call the cops? I do.
I remember Nix said something about like how there was no leadership in the locker room and everyone was just blaming everyone else. No one was taking leadership. This was Kalin's and Summer's senior year.
Did he mention leadership in the hotel lobby?
Yea, "rip ta da competition"
