Meh, no big deal.
I hope that's right. I would hope that the premium service I pay for here has some reliable insight as to why a double legacy 3-4 star player at a position of need who was supposedly a strong lean to us picked a team that we didn't even know was on his radar at the drop of a hat.
I'm not one of those fans who complains about recruiting, I like the results we've had on the field (this year's debacle on O aside). But, we must get more solid recruits along the lines. It's a numbers game and no one can tell me it's our team's plan to bring in only 2 total DTs over 2 full recruiting classes in Fennell and Salmon who aren't exactly can't miss guys, both are more of projects who are raw.
Yep, that was reported somewhere else which makes this news not surprising at all.
Also in the same report it looks like MSU will only take 1-2 more for the 2013 class, unlike the reports on 24/7 that it could be 3-5 more. Makes you wonder. I'm beginning to think major smoke is being blown up skirts.
I see Michigan State as a destination, not a stop.~Mark Dantonio
Where does this 'soft sell' stuff come from?
Not enrolling early, Hoover looking to return, LT repping at DT, strong interest from Alec James, and really tight on scholarships with more urgent needs.
I don't think it's too hard to connect the dots.

Need some O lineman in a bad way.........
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
Yes but unfortunately it's gonna have to wait until the '14 class.
MSU didn't lose a recruit, MSU cooled on Peko an this has been known for weeks now for a variety of reasons, one of the main ones being he wouldn't be an early enrollee meaning he wouldn't contribute at all next year, especially with Hoover back.
Having said that, carry on with your faux meltdown.
What does that have to do with Peko?
Tanfan. Ignores the fact that MSU went hard after Ojemudia's commit at last year's spring game and it really turned him off . . .
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
This is a massive failure on our part.
Plain and simple.
Marriage is like flying with kids, if the flight had 500 connections, never ended, Ted Striker were your pilot and you ate the fish.
Shhh. Please don't interupt the regularly scheduled meltdown.
wait, so now we didn't want him? You would think this little minor piece of info would have been known to the VIP staff or some of the posters who pay attention. Sounds UM-ish after the fact. Hard to believe we don't have a scholie for a few years for a 4* guy at a position of need who is a legacy REGARDLESS of when he shows up. Do we have another plan that I am not aware of?

No credible people like Matt Dorsey among other have been saying this for the past two weeks, or longer, that Peko to MSU just didn't seem like it was going to happen for all the reasons you have read ITT.
Trust me, if the staff really wanted him he would be Green.
SO am I giving my money to the wrong recruiting service? Here I was thinking that 24/7 had the best info, maybe I should subscribe to Matt Dorsey's site.
24/7 completely dropped the ball on this one and let its subscribers down. Hopefully it was just one that they totally whiffed on.
Trust me you shouldn't subscribe to Dorsey's site....their info is always late and they tend to throw things at the wall to see if they stick. They are awful.
FWIW, Scout whiffed on it too (Check CBD's posts on the recruiting board; he's an MSU Scout Mod and actually, you know, was coached by Duffy).
I wont, just disappointed in this site inn this instance. Now, after the fact, if they say we never really wanted him and he didn't have a committable offer it's going to sound an awful lot like scUM fans when they lose a recruit to another team. Last I checked Oregon State had a better team than us this year, I guess he was good enough for them though.
Why did 247 not pick up anything on this?
SEAN SCHERER JUST TALKED TO KYLE PEKO.
sean just talked to Kyle Peko....
he's all over it!
Beat ya by three seconds.
You really need to work on your reading comprehension skills, old man. I suggested that it is bull shit to speculate on the kid's grades only after he commits to another school. Yes, I'd love for all the top players/legacy recruits to commit to MSU...but I'm not gonna lose sleep over an 18 year old's college decision...or in this case, a JUCO

"Guys, we weren't even on the map at the beginning of the season, you all know that. We just kinda worked ourselves into the situation."MD
Couldn't be further from the truth.
