PRStoetzer is a virtual encyclopedia for all things Philly...I'd ask him. He gave me a couple of great recommendations a few years back. Can't remember the names of course
trust me on this...tell 'em Tim sent ya
215 South 15th Street
What type of food do you want? Expense account? How many going? Do you want atmosphere?
For cool bars (I'm assuming you are 20-30?), walk east on Market and go down 2nd St. Plenty bars and clubs. You might like South St - will need a cab.
I guess he has to rely on these since the middle schools are empty on weekends.
i think there is a mAcdonalds there.
Bishops Collar is good. I walked all over Philly so exact locale is iffy I think its close to City Hall and Rocky Steps/Art museum ....

Forbin and prstoezer were great hosts when I was in Philly.
Broad st has a few nice bars - overall a great city!
Chickie and Pete's
Monk's Cafe or Good Dog. Misconduct is pretty good too. If you're in town tomorrow, the Philly Spartans Alumni group is having a beef and beef scholarship fundraiser at the Field House starting at 3:30!
Go to monks. It's a cab ride but I'm never disappointed. It's a great place to get mussels or a good burger. Really good beer selection
I'm going to be there next week of 2 nights on business. Already penciled in Monk's for one night (hoping to drink some Russian River) planning for either Memphis Taproom or Bainbridge Street Barrel House for night 2.
Do you like beer? Go to a little hole in the wall joint called Eulogy. It is in old town on one of the tree streets like walnut or chestnut or something like that... Best beer selection I have ever seen. Many rare beers...
Other than Eulogy, I would recommend Monks also but it can get crazy busy, which is why I prefer Eulogy...
Tried monks. The wait was way to long. Ended up at a.kitchen. Which was awesome
Sitting at Corner Foodery now enjoying a beer.
Thanks for the heads up I'll check out Eulogy's
Center City gets way too packed for any non hidden gems on the weekend. Try Old City or Northern Liberties if you want to keep the party going. I'm heading out now.
Yeah, it was a quick trip. Car is in valet and I've spent enough for one night. City center works for what I was looking for
If you are still in Philly and want lunch tomorrow walk to Reading Terminal and get a roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe, and sharp provolone from Dinics It's a damn good sandwich
Stoetzer is in town too
