Price is a big factor - I do not need something that is top of the line or has extra bells and whistles. I want something 48" or bigger, and I want it to have decent-looking HD picture. I watch sports and Chicago Fire. And New Girl. Again, price matters. If I could find something for under $700, that would be ideal.
just move in with me
You should just hire a group of midgets to stand on your TV stand and act out shows and live sports for you.
Samsung EH6000. Basic TV with no smart TV features but it's got a fantastic picture. 50" is around $700 on amazon and 55" is around $750 last time I checked.

your kid's next professor
So you want everyone on here to do research for you? hahah
Go buy a mattress at some furniture store. I'm certain they will throw in TV.
You must be new here. This place is like Google when it comes to purchase recommendations.
Just use your phone now a days.
Good to know! Kidding aside, I bought a 65" samsung LED basic 1299. The picture is amazing and the tv itself looks really nice. I bought a Roku for $60 to make it smart which saved me an additional 500 or 600 bucks.
There's this new type of tv....I think it's called anal...
$1000 for the 50 and $850 for the 55?? http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN50EH6000-50-Inch-1080p-120Hz/dp/B0074FGW5G/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1365193751&sr=8-2&keywords=samsung+eh+6000
Yeah...uh, that's a no brainer.
I'll say what I always say...get the biggest thing you can. And read the reviews on AVS forum for your specific model. Big purchase, don't blindly listen to the idiots here.
Yes, that is the one! It's a great tv. Whatever tv you go with make sure you look up reviews to change the picture settings to the best possible. These new tvs are so crisp that it looks weird. I changed the settings based on a review I saw on Amazon and it made a world of difference.
Like with your men, always go one size bigger than what you think will be satisfactory. 47" is going to be fine? Get the 55" because you are going to want to within 48 hours of getting the tv home.

You must be old.

This is also great if your living room and kitchen is only divided by an island and in full view when your cooking.

I would not go with Plasma. I have a Plasma and have some Burn In issues.
Best advice in this thread.
