On to go off topic, but anybody who likes this stuff should own Gilmour's On an Island.
When a track like "Great gig in the Sky" is considered filler material just to add another 4-5 minutes to an album, you know you've created a goddamn masterpiece.

I'm another who prefers "Wish You Were Here", but I really love "Dark Side of the Moon"....
DSOTM hands down
oh yeah and Jerry Rice = DSOTM
Randy Moss = The Wall
I'm saying that people with off the charts talent tend to be their own biggest critic.
Another vote for Animals
Animals then Darkside of the Moon
Btw - which was in the top 200 for almost 15 years?

I know it's not cool to like a popular song/album/anything from a great band, but having listened to all their albums multiple times through, and listening to their masterpiece albums countless times, The Wall is my choice. It's just an amazing musical journey.
While the songs on DSOTM, individually, may have more balance and listen-ability, the Wall is much deeper and more of an achievement. This is especially true when taken as a whole, considering the musical and lyrical themes that resonate throughout the entire thing.
Don't post poop!
Gilmour's solos on Dogs rank up their with his solo on Comfortably Numb in my opinion.
To answer the OP's question I'd have to go with DSOTM but WYWH or Animals are my favorites.
Pipers At The Gate of Dawn is pretty amazing. A totally different sounding band at the onset, but a very strong album IMO.
The Wall but "When the Tigers Broke Free" must be included.

Finally. I called you out a whole page ago. Took ya long enough.
I love When the Tigers Broke Free, but my favorite from the film is "What Shall We Do Now". I think they should have worked it into the album instead of going the Empty Spaces/Young Lust route.
DSOTM is a fucking masterpiece. Every track is an orgasm. They threw on an instrumental and it was amazing too.
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
I love dark side, but I'm a guitar guy & I find gilmour's work on the wall more interesting with more energy. I love animals for that same reason.
DSOM at the top for the greatest album of all-time. I see no contest here.
No need to insult Gilmour here.
