When I win, bacon for everyone (soy-faken for MSU Red)!
But the actual cost is $2. Sure, the expected value is something under $2, but how many people care about that? To me it's entertainment, and I can spend $2 to entertain the thoughts of donating enough money to put MSU among the top 10 programs in CFB .
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Oh sure, I'll get one ticket.
Here's something fun to try if you're bored.
How much could you win if you bought 10,000 Powerball tickets!
But will it be a Final 4 Ticket?
I would go to the final four easily if I win. And do some other stuff I can only dream of right now.
I got my ticket, it feels like a winner. I'm sure I'm the only one who feels that way.
FWIW, well worth the $2 just for the entertainment value. I don't expect to win, not at all. But, if I didn't buy a ticket, and no one won, I'd be convinced that I would have.
Up to $500 million
Question authority. Power to the people
Net loss of $42,727 . Won more than $14 just once in 158 years ($200) .
Oh, and you have to do the power play. Return on investment with it is around $.14. Without it it's around $.06 or $.07.
This is hilarious.
Just a heads up, it will stop running if you change tabs. If you want to let it run for a few hours, just open it up in a separate window. I saw the link on reddit awhile ago and the results were fun to see.
When ever I buy tickets I remind myself that my numbers have the same odds as 1,2,3,4,5,6 being picked and I've never seen that happen. It helps keep me grounded. (it is fun to dream though)
A Spartan Today, A SPARTAN FOREVER. Through thick and thin, low and high water I strive to be the best Spartan ever.
I've run this about a 10 times using 1,2,3,4,5,6 power play for 50 years, never gotten more that 4 numbers ($200 pay out) best return I've gotten was $0.17 on the dollar.
If I got that pot of gold, I would become the most unscrupulous booster in MSU history.
Considering the kind of crap that gets distributed in movie theaters (cough, Twilight), two bucks is a steal for a few hours of entertaining imaginations of what you'd do with the money.
That simulator is depressing.
FYI I have played 5 times and have won about $80. I just did that and had $36 after 10 years.
Michigan State University is the university of Michigan
Do you guys pick your own numbers or just do the automatic thing? I've never done this before. I'm a lotto virgin.
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
Oh, it's ok. I've been running the thing in the background and just hit 5265 years even. I've won $264,302. That results in a net LOSS of $1,378,378.00 . I'm trying to see how many years before I hit the jackpot. Fun to check every hour or so to see where I end up.
I only play 2 or 3 times a year, and I never, ever pick my own numbers.
My reasoning is that if I played meaningful numbers that I would remember, I'd someday see a jackpot with those numbers, but for a drawing that I didn't have a ticket for.
All the odds, different winning combinations, etc. This is fun.
Odds may 175,000,000 to 1, but someone has to be "the one."
That "one" will have their life ruined. The average joe will lose all his friends, all his family and likely die prematurely with that kind of windfall.
There is balance in life . . .
I also believe that a disproportionate amount of the tickets are bought by people who do not have a good grasp on how to handle money. If you do anything other than pay-off all your current debts and stash the $$ in a trust where you only see the interest for awhile (or set up a series of trusts for your immediate family, depending on your situation) or donate it immediately to a charity(ies), you're asking for trouble.
Not going to lie, I'd be pretty paranoid if I won.
Yes. The inevitable curse of tons of hookers and blow.
I'm buying my personal tickets tomorrow

Guy I used to work with bought a Lotto ticket every time, same numbers, twice per week. One day his numbers got 5 of 6. Payout was like $2500.
Yup, you guessed it. He forgot to buy that day. That was only 2500. can you imagine that happening to someone who got all 6? I can't even imagine.
