Is there any doubt it is the Detroit Lions? I could envision the Cubs, Clippers, or any Cleveland franchise winning a title before the Lions ever do.
Location: Mumbai, India
Unlike the Cubs, the Lions are starting to actually build a team that can win. Despite some bad losses this year this team can be a contender in the next few years with the right moves and maybe a new coach. The Clippers are good now by the way if they stay healthy. Speaking of health, the Lions this year have been plagued by injuries (Spivey, Burleson, Delmas, Best) to name a few key players.
Pirates royals or jaguars.
3/4 of the NBA
Montreal Expos ?
The Washington Nationals should be one of the favorites to win the NL next year.
This is the crap year for the Lions. Same deal with the Spartans. A player or two away from winning it all. I am not normally the "wait until next year" guy, but...wait.
I don't anticipate seeing my St. Louis Blues winning a chance championship anytime soon.
You really think the Lions are a player or two away from winning it all?
The Lions will NEVER win a Super Bowl. If there's one thing I'm absolutely positive of in sports, it's that.
Not a player or two but I'd say 4-5 players. They need quality DB's and a speed back and maybe a linebacker and kick returner. All set at the receiver position, QB, good at the power back position, receiver, TE, DL and LB. The OL is OK not great but Reiff looks to have a lot of potential.

Columbus Blue Jackets easily. Worst run sports team with an indifferent fanbase who has never seen winning hockey.
Washington Wizards. Never. Ever.
Hard to win a championship without playing a game.
This country was built by people who worked hard then went home and had just a few too many every night. Then went back to work.
and that is about 50-75% of the league. There are a handful of dumpster fire teams that need to completely overhaul the roster, but the rest just need a few really good players at key positions (or they are already a championship team).
The difference is the Lions other than DB's have the key positions in place already. KC, Rams, Buffalo, Jets, Miami and others are further behind than the Lions.
I'm pretty sure the Lions are closer to winning a championship than the Astros are to winning the WS (or even getting in the playoffs).
Umm, the Detroit Lions have won the NFL Championship four times. The Cleveland Browns have four times as well. The Chicago Cubs have won the World Series twice, and the Cleveland Indians twice as well.
Now, the Cleveland Barons (NHL) never did, and the Cleveland Cavaliers and San Diego/Los Angeles Clippers never have, I'll give you that.
The NBA is increasingly a have vs. have-nots with a wide disparity. The Bobcats are a long, long way away and terribly run. I go with them for now.

As long as the Fords continue to own them...I agree with you.

The cubs haven't won since 1911 i believe? It's gonna be a very, very long time before they win another one.
the Oakland Raiders will never, EVER win a super bowl EVER.
And Michigan was the team of the decade during the 1900's. The merger was quite a ways back. If you're old enough to remember the Lions or Browns winning a championship, I'd love to hear some tales. Now if you remember the Cubs winning a championship, you would really blow my mind!
as a long island kid I am surprised the New York Islanders run lasted as long as it did... they are a shambles!!!
I would say 1) Cubs, 2) Lay Downs, 3) Bobcats, 4) Phins, and 5) Raiders
I don't even watch the Super Bowl any more. Because I will never see the Lions in the Super Bowl (not in my lifetime), I just don't care any more.
