If they win the CBI Tourney
It's embarrassing that the CBI exists.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
Who is going to go to watch those teams play...they will have to give away tickets.
Are those games even on TV?
It is more embarassing that they offer bids to teams with sub .500 records.
Surprised they qualified.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Other teams pursuin' that.
The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
Who the fuck is Bryant?
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
I like Texas, Purdue, Richmond, and Wyoming - with Purdue beating Wyoming.
This tournament will be helpful for Purdue - gets some more playing time for their young'uns. Also see some different play styles to prepare for the tournament next year (which they should be in).
A school who is glad to be there.....last year they were 2-28
Here is how you qualify....
1.) Do you want to keep playing? If yes, go to #2.
2.) Are you willing to pay us money to host a home game? If yes, go to #3.
3.) Congrats! You earned a spot in the CBI. (Once your $50,000 check clears.)
I was kidding.
I know. But I doubt that many people know that schools pay to play in this tournament. At least to host home games.
For Matt Painter, in a fight to save his job, this of course reeks of desperation.
But for him, that is his natual scent.
Purdue, THAT is why Harris and Dawson didn't want to play there.
Now, go enjoy your little tourney.
Dominating Press Conferences Since 2007
AXS.tv obviously. Did you even look at the bracket?

To be fair, having Harris and Dawson could have made a huge difference in their season.
Also, Purdue pretty much returns everyone next year and their recruiting is pretty decent. They are going to be a pain in the ass in the future.
whoops, must've missed it.
Wtf is axs tv?
costs ~35k to host first round game. ~50k to host a second round game. ~75k to host a semi-final.

You have to be kidding. Where did that info come from?
A while back, knowing Nebraska was in for a rough season, Tim Miles was asked about the Huskers and the CBI. He said he'd hesitate to accept a bid because no team in the Big Ten had ever accepted a bid to a post-season tournament outside the NCAA and NIT. Interesting that Purdue wanted to keep their season going with this -- Especially with the cost.
it's the single most watched TV show on the planet, of course. :D
Purdue fan site wrote about should they accept/not accept a bid
"To play at home you have to pay a fee to the tournament organizers, the Gazelle Group. Last year that fee was $35,000 for a first round game, $50,000 for a second round game, and $75,000 for a semifinal."
The Purdue basketball season could continue in the College Basketball Invitational.
I'm very impressed with Miles. If he can land a few recruits, he's going to do very well in Lincoln.
more funny quotes:
"The other side of the coin is that it is the CBI. It's an embarrassing third-tier tournament that deserves no form of celebration even if you win it. There should be no CBI Tournament banner hung or T-shirts made if Purdue wins the five games needed to win it all. It is strictly an opportunity to give D.J. Byrd and Dru Anthrop a few more games and to develop Purdue's young freshmen further. It should never be the goal of a program to level out there, and Even Purdue goes forward and gets its record above .500 as a result (and even to a possible 20 wins) there comes with it a certain stigma of "yeah, but..." As in, "Yeah, you won 20 games, but you played in the CBI." It is absolutely embarrassing that we're even talking about playing in this thing.
No Big Ten team has ever played in the event, either. It will hardly be a cakewalk as some respectable teams will likely make this season's event. Purdue could expect to see an Evansville team that finished the season strong, possibly Indiana State too, who has a win over ACC champ Miami. Xavier, Florida State, UTEP, Detroit, Kent State, Western Michigan, and Washington are examples of teams that could find their way to the CBI with us. There are teams that can and will challenge Purdue."
I would pay for Purdue to hang a CBI Championship banner.
I think it is that station where if you watch it, chicks will like hang all over you.
