that is true, also depends on how you use it. i do not leave my radar on the entire time while i am driving. if i have time i usually pick and choose the vehicles i want to stop and then will use the radar to help find a reason to stop them.
What are those cops doing who stand outside their car on the highway shooting radar at all these cars? They don't get your license plate do you? I was going 15 over on the highway and the cop was on the other side of the median pointing at me, but nothing ever happened cause of it.
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
Sometimes State Patrol will work in groups of two or three. One person will be on Radar/LIDAR, the other two will be maybe a quarter mile down the road. The Radar/LIDAR officer will radio in any speeders to those ahead. I've never done this, but I know our traffic guys sometimes use this "wolf pack" approach.
I travel a lot. Drive to northern MI 25+ times/year. Drive to Utah, Colorado, Montana yearly. The Valentine has worked wonders. Depending on driving conditions I'm rarely going over 80 in a 70, but when I get a signal I will slow down to less than 5 over. Never know what "mood" Mr. Officer is in and it has also saved my from a lot of speed traps on country roads.
Sorry if I screw up any quota's but owning 5 cars and having 2 teenage drivers I don't need my insurance being any higher than it is!
