I read on Rivals site that Patrick Narduzzi could be the new USC DC? Is this true?
Who knows, he could get pissed and leave, but I would think he is waiting for a head coaching job.
Link? Curious as to who the "source" is on this....A Texas A&M board perhaps?
35,600 posts and counting since 09-09-2002. tRCMB Dead Pool Commissioner.
He deserves a promotion, so I can see it. Running SC's defense would be a dream for him.
Narduzzi is following Chip Kelly to the Browns
Going somewhere else to be a DC is not a promotion from coaching one of the top defenses in the nation the last two years.
I think the only way he'd consider SC is if Kiffin gets shit canned. Nardawg's next move (when it happens) is a Head Coach gig. Period.

I wouldn't mind him leaving for a head coaching gig, but this would hurt my soul
Couldn't agree more...my god comparing Kiffin to Dantonio is just: hard to do. Kiffin is in trouble there and I'm sure they would LIKE to snag Nardog but that DC job could be a one year gig for anyone. They aren't happy with Kiffin right now, at all.
*****I also happen to think he COULD have the MSU job lined up in a year or two. NOTHING to prove it or link it, just an educated guess. If this team and Coach D' can pull off good records the next 2 seasons with an easier schedule I could see Pat step in the same way Izzo stepped in for Jud....that would be 8 years for Coach D', a heart attack and MANY solid wins and seasons under his belt: I'd love to see it happen. I don't want to lose this guy****
OP is talking about this list
Just says that they want him. In a word, devaxr... no, he's not going to walk onto a staff with a hotseat coach, in a city that is about as far removed from the midwest as possible, for the same job.
Here we go again...
Had Kiffin gone 10-2 / 11-1 maybe for a major raise. Kiffin isn't setting the world on fire in LA. He just has a recruit jump ship.
But why move to USC where you need to live 60-90 minute commute from campus? Narduzzi is a Midwest guy getting $500K/yr at MSU. With housing costs $500K in EL goes a lot farther than $750K in SoCal.
Lane Kiffin is a coaching disaster
Which part is the "educated" part?
I could be the new USC DC, too. Is it true?
all of it Nigel...my wife overheard Pat's maid mention it at the nail salon recently....ya know: ''educated"
Join a sinking ship?
Yes sir he is
The USC job is a step down now that Kiffin has nose dived that program...Narduzzi would be a good candidate for the head coaching job. Their AD should demote Kiffin to QB coach and hire Narduzzi as their head coach.
FWIW, Narduzzi did tweet that he was going to LA for a "recruiting trip". It's over on the Duff if anyone wants to check up on it.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Here's the USC board link. Just "lots of smoke".
I hope he's performing PR setup for another deserved pay raise.
I find it more likely, however, that he is visiting Kyle Peko.
laconophilia is everywhere...
Honestly, I think he's smarter than that. The USC job is riddled with uncertainty and to break from MSU to go do the same job at USC sounds like a one year gig at best.
Makes sense to us, but I don't like the amount of smoke around this.
On that thread, they are saying 1.2 mil per year. If that number is real, I wouldn't blame him. Given living expenses, I would guess that is a pretty similar salary to what he is getting here. It would really surprise me if they were throwing 1.2 mil at him. I think he's worth it, though.
