The 09 team had a lot of attitude and could turn into ball hogs at times. The press with this team is so much better.
With all that being said, i'm not even arguing whether this team is better or not. i'm saying that the talk among UofL fans is more optimistic this year and I think more people are interested in going to the game than were in 09.
oops....that's what i get for typing on the ipad and not paying attention....
oh, I agree that most uofL fans thought we were going to beat MSU that day. No doubt about it. I'm saying that most also feel we have a better shot at the championship with this team than we did with that one.
After checking out the hot chicks, I noticed some camel toe...and its the feathered kind!

This is all true. I remember - because I'm from the East Coast and have friends that went to 'Cuse and UConn - that people wouldn't stop talking about the Big East. It was all over the media. No one gave MSU a chance at all that year.
That '09 Louisville team was very talented, no doubt. But you won't find one UofL fan that thinks it was a better "team" than this year's. The '09 team's leadership came from Terrance Williams, not the most - well let's just say, "humble" - young man. The guard play on this year's team is MUCH better and our full court press is night and day better. Russ Smith and Peyton Siva are like little gnats and it's all about wearing down the opponent. As for the crowd on Friday, there will definitely be as many Louisville fans as in '09, if not more.
We have the utmost respect for MSU and Coach Izzo and I fully expect to see you guys on Sunday. The Duke match-up will be a classic and we're certainly not taking Oregon lightly at all (well, maybe a small % of fans are but rest assured, the players and staff aren't).
Well of course not, you guys haven't lost yet.
But when you do, you'll turn on this year's team when the next hyped up team comes along.
Your opinion but frankly, you're wrong. In a one loss and you're out scenario, anything can happen. But these kids on this year's Louisville team are GOOD kids and play with 10x more heart than the '09 squad. There will be no "turning" on them no matter what happens over the next few weeks.
Is Louisville going to wear orange again?
Again...there will always be another "better team" than this one as soon as the hype machine gets going. It's natural...it's what fans do.
When I say turning on them, I don't mean booing them out of the building. I mean when comparing them to the "new hotness" they'll seem less than unless they go and win the whole thing.
We do it around here all the time....this team is better than the 05 FF team, or this team is better than the 09 FF team, etc...or the 09 FF team was better than the 05 team. Heck we had a thread in here before the tourney started stating that this year would be MSU's best chance at a 3rd NC ...despite the fact that MSU was a 1 seed last year.
Right now, of course this team is the better team...but will they be if they lose to Oregon? Will the be better than last year's team if MSU or Duke beats them? Will they be better than next year's team if say...next year's team starts goes out and wins their first 10 games or so...?
Who knows, but I do know that your fans will be hyping them as the better team at the time. Its natural.

+1 for the pics of hot young co-eds.
Now about those bar recommendations...
Assume there will be 50%UL fans, 30% MSU, 10% Oregon, and 10% Duke. Duke never has a huge in person following, due to a small alumni base.
Who will the Louisville crowd pull for, MSU or Duke? I assume they feel like they'll be able to crush us and no one want to root for Duke...
Sorry Fletch but Louisville is a likely a more dynamic city than exists in Michigan.
"I think the world is run by C students"
I don't think there will be more or even as many LVille fans there this weekend as there were in 09 simply because they weren't predicted to go to the Midwest regional right up until Selection Sunday (everyone assumed IU). In 09 it was obvious much earlier they would be in the Indy regional, and LVille fans bought up tickets in anticipation of that.
Are you kidding? Your "on her" chick on the right is the hottest one in that photo.
Which is why not many bought tickets to any regional in anticipation of buying tickets for the actual regional we are in. That, and the proximity to Indy, makes for an easy trip to Lucas Oil. Anyone think it being Easter Sunday will affect the attendance? On top of that, the setup is different than in 2009. The court has been moved to the endzone rather than placed at mid-field.
You do understand the different in price and availability of buying a month ago versus buying now...right?
Anyway, it's only 30K attendance this weekend and I believe it's close to sold out, so no I don't think it will be impacted by Easter. LVille will have a good crowd, but after opposing teams allotments, sponsor seats, unaffiliated public, etc. I don't think it will be near what it was in terms of impact and ratio in 09.
He did not claim that our 2009 fans were not over confident .... they were. The #1 overall seed that year went to our head as well as our 103 - 64 pasting of Arizona a couple days before we faced you guys.
We felt that loss for a long, long time and even last year's win has not erased that memory.
The OP just stated that he believes, as most of us do, that our team this year is stronger than our 2009 team. Partly for the reason that we are still haunted by that loss.

This discussion all but guarantees an Oregon-Duke Elite Eight matchup
This. The jinx is this thread is overwhelming.
It's comical seeing Sparty fans argue with Louisville fans about the quality of past and present Cards teams. Obviously you're trying to convince yourselves because there's no comparison.
Your boy Draymond was the only guy who could hang last year. Where's he at these days? Meanwhile both our offense and defense are better than a year ago, check the stats.
Keep hoping for another meltdown like 09. Of course first you deal with ratface. Good luck as we match up much better with MSU than Duke imo.
Yawn. I respect Louisville but you guys haven't even won a national title in any of your players' lifetimes so it's not like U of L has been a truly dominant program in recent years. Plus you have the same number of Final Fours as Butler in the past 25+ years.

You're the ones coming to another board and talking about a completely unrelated topic... thanks for nothing!
