I get a vote every year for Mr. Basketball. I always vote for a Spartan but I'm pretty sure we're not getting any of these guys.
So, what says you?
The nominees are: (in alphabetical order)
Kahlil Felder - Detroit Pershing
Dontel Highsmith - Dowagiac
Monte Morris - Flint Beecher
Derrick Walton, Jr - Harper Woods Chandler Park Academy
James Young - Rochester

James Young is unreal. He's heading to Kentucky. Only one out of that list with an MSU offer
Derrick Walton is heading to Michigan.
Monte Morris is heading to MSU-Ames.
I'd probably go with James Young
Thank you, I always vote against scUM so thanks on the Walton info. Makes sense why Hoiberg spoke at the annual clinic now, that and the others of course.
I couldn't remember how we felt about Young choosing UK.
And this is why awards like Mr. Basketball are a joke. Nothing but politics.
You shouldn't get a vote if you base it on whether or not someone is going to MSU. Just vote for the best player.
I didnt really blame him for picking UK. He grew up an MSU fan but played the same position as Jabari, so we didnt recruit him hard, even though he was a top 10 national player.
But he's by far the best player on that list.

Pretty reasonable response.
Each of these kids have worked their butts off to earn the consideration of being named the top high school player in the state. You have an opportunity to recognize excellence, keep your agenda out of your vote.
Go Green -
If they are all excellent, why does it matter?
I vote for Spartans. If there were any, I wouldn't be asking for insights.
Vote for the best/most deserving player, not what a message board tells you.
Michigan State University is the university of Michigan
If you don't understand the question, you shouldn't comment.
