"It's not a lie, if you believe it." - George Costanza
Not for towels it's not...RIP
December 3, 2011 - Forever haunted by what I witnessed...
I Didn't even know he was sick...
Wow, very sad. Prayers for his family sent.
About 23 seconds in to it.
ESPN 2 commentators (Rick Majerus and Steve Lavin) talk about college (now NBA) basketball player Rudy Gay.

Very sad indeed. RIP Coach Majerus.
"I love March!" - Tom Izzo
Wow. Heart attack?
Sad, he sounded in bad shape after his loss to us last spring.
Great coach, always a scary match up come March.
His long time girlfriend (like 30 years) knew he was very ill but he had even kept details of his health from her.
He was a great basketball mind who got the opportunity to a student asst. and then be an assistant coach for Al McGuire at Marquette. He learned from one of the best.
Do you think Mo Ager could jump over his casket?
I'm out of downvotes, anyone wanna help out?
May he rest in peace. With a headband on.
Marriage is like flying with kids, if the flight had 500 connections, never ended, Ted Striker were your pilot and you ate the fish.
Towel was Tarkanian (sp?). Wrong guy.
Great coach, unbelievable job he did at Utah.
Google "Rick Majerus towel" for an uplifting story.
RIP very sad. in all honesty though, i can't say i'm surprised.
Wow I never knew about that. I thought he was mistaking the two. I mixed them up when I was younger.
Always mentioned by other coaches as one of, if not the, best X and O coaches in the sport. The plan he threw at UNC (Jamison and Vince Carter's team) in the Final Four was amazing, totally froze the Heels.
Clearly was beyond eccentric, bordering on certifiable. Still had a personality in a sport that is now pretty devoid of it.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
From the stories I have heard, dude was an asshole, no doubt about it. Great basketball coach though. RIP
H was a bit of everyman too. He worked at the Miller brewery for a summer job when he was at Marquette. As recently as when he was at Utah he was still carrying his Brewers Union/UAW card. Said he never knew when he might need work again.
Like rook said, one of the best X's and O's guys in the game.
might explain part of that zany news conference after our game in the round of 32 last year. dude knew he might have coached his last big game and almost beat a 1 seed. RIP.
RIP to a damn fine coach.
We lost one of the good guys today. Great coach, sometimes strange personality, but great guy.
