Let's get this rolling.
Izzo will say that Nix is not a Bad Seed, Nix will say that he's going to do some Curing during this suspension...
I'd like to see a news conference with a college basketball who DIDN'T smoke pot. That would be a breaking news story.
Yes, weed rehab. Why do you find that funny?
They're all clones.
It is still viewed as a drug in the eyes of the public and the law. It would make the most sense to let Nix distance himself from the drug in an environment that is tailored to help with various addictions. Whatever it takes to help him get rid of this issue and get back on track to graduate and play.
I'm guessing Nix just want's to dank everyone for their support.

Its high time
EZ. Wider ranging studies have shown that marijuana does not cause dependency.
Izzo sending Nix to rehab for not even getting a possession charge?
Best. Cameo. Ever.
Well, he is from Detroit and you know...one of them. It's fair to ask questions.
Whatever. Weed is fucking up the kids life and rehab sure as hell won't hurt.
Well maybe a treatment regime. Even outpatient rehab can be expensive.

The last time I saw a college basketball smoke pot I was on acid.
Lol - please tell me I'm in the 10% here. That or you know a lot more than has been revealed publicly.
I'm betting on you just talking out of your ass.
I'm a little disappointed at the lack of speculation on his punishment so far in this thread.
Here's my guess:
- He won't be eligible to be a captain
- 2-3 game suspension for regular season games (but can play in exhibitions)
- Community service
- Other internal punishments that we won't know about (early morning workouts, random drug testing, etc)
We are not the same, I am a Spartan
10% of what? Pot isn't fucking up Derrick Nix's life? No one has ever gone to rehab for pot?
Wow, news of this press conference is spreading blaze-ingly fast
You're right - and everyone who gets an MIP is an alcoholic.
Draconian laws are fucking up his life, not smoking some weed.
Now knowing what 1995 is like all over again! Thank you 247 technology!!
He got caught with weed while operating a vehicle. What the hell is so hard to follow here? The law or the public does not give two fucks about what the "cool kids" that think "aw, come on. LULZ Brah. It is just weed". This is a problem that casts a bad light on Nix and his reputation. All I care is that this shit is made to look good on fucking paper. If he has to go and live with fucking Mother Teresa for the summer to achieve that, then so be it.
Cuz if it was on the hour you wouldn't be able to hear because the bells in the Cathedral go bong.
